Great topic Andres, I'm moving from Drupal to Wordpress so I'm interested as well.
I'm new to Wordpress and I am looking to what plugins are the most interesting/useful.
These are the ones I know of or I'm using:
Akismet (included)
All in One SEO Pack
Broken Link Checker
commentluv
FeedBurner FeedSmith
Google Analytics for WordPress
Google XML Sitemaps
Maintenance Mode
Sociable
Subscribe to Comments
Wordpress Automatic Upgrade
Wordpress Database Backup
What else do you guys use or recommend? Which ones do you think people should stay away from?
P.S. Most of them were recommended to me by my friend Alec Satin who's got a blog about Project Management. I recommend his blog for those that have to deal with IT Projects.

Hey - I use wordpress so I thought I'd give my 2 cents.
Firstly, I would recommend keeping your amount of plugins to a minimum, five should be your max. This is so you can keep your site more secure. Many times plugins have security flaws that aren't addressed.
Akismet (included) - Definitely use this. Spam comments get ridiculous after awhile.
All in One SEO Pack - Good for google, use it myself.
Broken Link Checker - Haven't used it, but it doesn't seem really necessary.
commentluv - Never used it. Sounds okay, but it could just complicate the comment section.
FeedBurner FeedSmith - Use it and recommend it.
Google Analytics for WordPress - You can just paste google analytics code in the footer or header template instead of this.
I also haven't used all the others but I just wanted to give you some feedback on a few of the plugins.
Good luck!
Drupal is an awesome CMS. For what I need, it was somewhat overkill ... Like renting a 18 foot semi truck to move a couch across town. The learning curve is little steep as well and I feared I'd be spending too much time learning/dissecting all the functionality instead of writing.
The things you can build with Drupal are amazing.
If I was going to build another lead-gen company, I'd consider Drupal or ROR vs 100% custom.

GWA Autoresponder seems like it would be an awesome tool for marketers ... assuming the product bugs were fixed. I installed it 6 months ago and wasn't able to get it to work, but since then, it has some revisions.
