I've been sitting here for about 10 minutes now- my headache growing, and my nerves shortening, and I got to thinking that I would quite happily pay someone for condensed tutoring on ebusiness. I also got to thinking that I'm sure I'm not alone. Now I'm sure that such a service already exists, but probably by people who I would have no way of verfying their abilities. Some then the next thought was that maybe some people on this site who have the skills/knowledge and who are looking to make decent money (I would pay $25/hr) would be willing to set up a syllabus and teach some classes via webinar. I would think that those who are teaching the classes could have a farily automated syllabus (www.universalclass.com) and only response when students have questions. Farily passive income as far as I can tell. Maybe those who are skilled could become sponsors of the site as well, making it a win-win-win for MJ, those of us who are tired of having headaches and themselves. Just a thought. ...I have to go take some asprin now.

Yes, this is true- however, often times I'm not even sure if I'm asking the right question. It would be very helpful to have some lay out a plan (syllabus style) to walk noobs through different aspects of internet business/marketing, etc.

Hmmm. We're thinking on the same wave length today. I'm no guru, but I know a little about a lot.
As I was driving home today, I had an idea based on certain knowledge I don't have, but have been lusting after lately. I realized that many of things I am proficient in, others are probably wondering about, as I was in the past.
I was, maybe still am, going to post a thread today asking what beginners would like to know about ebiz.
What is the most difficult thing to understand, hardest thing to overcome, what can't they find that, they need?, etc...
I was then going to turn this into an info product, either on my own, with the other contributors, or anyone else that was interested in taking it further.
My intent is to contribute to the product in the areas I know well, and find others for the rest, delivering quality info for beginners.
For contributing questions (thus content), all fastlane members will receive the product for free.
Thoughts, interest? Posts and PM's are welcomed.
What are you trying to learn by the way? I'm sure one us has a resource for it.
I would agree. But, I could take a hundred hours of my learning through forums and various other sources, and compile that into a format for someone to learn in a matter of single digit hours.
When I first became interested in the web, I would have gladly paid for something like this. You can spin your wheels with the most basic stuff and waste so much time.
Also, I will add that this was reinforced by Diane's newsletter I just received. She sent out an email about her mastermind group and about utilizing assets you already have.
If you're not on her list, GET ON IT!!!
Sorry to hijack a bit Yves.

is this for the class or one on one tutoring?
For people who are not on this forum...how will they be able to "verify" the "teachers" on this site more than any other site?
How many students would be in each "class". I would assume quite a bit...to make it worth the teachers time. I also am not seeing it as passive income. If there were 50 people signed up and each needed 10 minutes of help each day...that would be over 8 hours a day.
It would be nice to see it happen and be worth paying for, I'd be one of the first to sign up. However, I just don't see it happening for a "reasonable" price.

If you were intersted in proceeding with this idea, look into www.universalclass.com you could offer courses there. Ideally, I think adding tutorials on certain subjects (not just ebiz) could be done via webinar or like universalclass. Doing so would allow for fairly passive streams of income for the teacher and it would speed up the process for those of us who want to learn.
...Yes, I'm sure that everyone in this forum has the answers to each other's questions- I'm getting frustrated trying to figure out what I need to ask! It would be great if there was, let's say, a class on blogging. This class would give a rundown on everything someone who wants to start making money off a blog would want to know. Potential students would be able to view a syllabus of the material before they sign up.

Unfortunately these guys are closing down (probably to relaunch in a new format), but their training is top notch, and is pretty much exactly what you are wishing for, conducted by experienced pros:

I've personally been involved as a member and an affiliate for over a year, and I highly recommend them. You may still be able to grab the course materials and take a course or two before the end of June.
Here is my review:

edit...looks like I'm too late and they have already closed, but there is a free intro course still available:

Just want to second Yves request. I feel the same way. Just today I posted a question about landing questions and based on the responses I am not even sure I know what a landing page is. LOL!
I am looking into adding a blog to my website and at an email campaign and I do not even know what to do. I have gotten some recommendations that will take me several days just to review...
To put it a different way...
A landing page is just a sales medium. It's a way for you or your company to speak to your visitor -- be it about sales, a product, service, whatever.... Just as a terrific salesman always speaks to his customer in a very fluid manner, always proposing accurately, even on the fly.
A landing page is no different...this is the reasoning for layout & design, subconscious mission statement, that speaks to a target user. Moreover, a landing page may not be your product or sales site, but a carefully designed page that caters toward a specific user, problem, solution, etc. to execute a specific action, whether it be a sale, sign up (opt in), introduce a sale somewhere else (ie hyperlink) whatever your intent is, etc...
For the blog, use Wordpress. If you have hosting with a Cpanel, Wordpress is preloaded in Fantastico, and you can install your blog in a couple minutes without having to know anything about databases. There are free templates available to customize, so you don't need to know anything about coding to get started. Wordpress.org has an entire area about how to complete all of these functions.
Not sure exactly what you mean by email campaign, but you can get an autoresponder through Aweber, which is most popular.
See- this is where there are gaps in my knowledge! I always thought that if a person did a blog, they would want it's own domain and not have it hosted on wordpress.
As for email campaign, I have always used constant contact (www.constantcontact.com) with great success. The templates are pretty easy to use and they have webinars showing you how to use their different products.

Thanks mtnman! I guess that wordpress is just the softaware, right?
In any case, I am sorry but I was unable to give you speed, as I need to spread it around...
Wordpress I would guess is the most popular blog provider on the net. You can go to the wordpress site and search around for resources and they even have forums.
I replied here so you guys will see this thread. In the future, there will be more helpful info there.
