Obviously if its purely the name thats likely to make it a hit, like the energy drink "pussy", make sure the trademark is done asap.

Then just focus on distribution- start contacting wholesales, websites, shops etc that sell condoms.

Cool business also lol "what do you do?" "i sell condoms"

May I ask you a question, if students can get them for free why would they pay money for yours?

If you already own the domain name you should tell us what it is. It will help you start getting the name out there and begin your branding now.

PatrickP: I won't charge them anything, putting my condoms at the school clinic is solely for marketing purposes, They will be free and once people get their hands on them they will tell their friends, etc... and then on the condom wrapper is my website, so then they can go to my website and check it out, and then they will be for sale on my website. And I can't say my company name because I don't have it trademarked, once I do I will be glad to tell anyone it!

A lot of college campuses have a limit on how many free ones students can take. So I'm guessing he'd be giving free ones away as samples to get the name out there.

Thank you, do you have any idea how I can get my company name trademarked? I've gone here (www.sunbiz.org - Home) but couldn't find anything to actually "Register" my company name. I've searched all the databases for every state in the United States and it doesn't exist.

That is my plan, people will then tell their friends about it and then "hopefully" spread the word...

Do you know how much it costs to get a trademark and how long it takes to process?

No idea, I've never filed for a trademark before.

Does anyone know if I should be aware of anything with legal issues kind of like a insurance for my company? Should I have some type of disclaimer?

I am fairly certain that there would be a multitude of legal and other issues involved with a potential startup of this nature. If you were able to network on Linkedin or even at a local chamber meeting with manufacturing businesses you may find someone willing to lend their expertise. Wouldn't even necessarily have to be someone from the exact same industry.

If you are serious about starting the business, I would talk to a lawyer or find legal advice from a friend who is a lawyer. The last thing you want to do is have the business out there and then find out you can't do it for some legal reason.

You can try trademarking on legalzoom.com. I used them before. They charge a fee close to $500. But I think your best bet would be to go to a patent attorney. If you want to do it right then that;s the way to go. Through an attorney you'll probably pay close to $1k. The whole process can take up to a year or longer.

What I would do is put a ™ next to your log and the name of your company and call it a day. If you end up making a good profit go ahead and file for a ®

Try googling "private label condoms" you may find a US supplier. I have no experience in private labeling, but I'd assume since you aren't manufacturing the condoms, the liability may not rest on you?? Just thinking.
