Default Do you talk to yourself?

I was going to keep this post within the insider's thread. Because this, I think, is one of the more powerful little things that I do, which makes a big difference in my actions. I then realized, that I should post it to the main forum because I'm not in competition with the people here, and it may help someone out.

So here is the question/tip - do you talk to yourself? I think that this is key to making more 'well-rounded' decisions. Here is what I mean:

I own a mac-book air and an iphone. My mac has a notes feature, which syncs with my iphone - meaning that I can type in my notes and they will appear on my phone. If I type notes on my phone, then the notes appear on my mac. It's a great set-up.

I use my notes to talk to myself about my business. If you were to read my notes, then it would appear as though there were 2 people talking. I ask myself questions about my business, and I answer my questions. I free-write about ideas and issues that are coming up. I look for, and write about potential opportunities, which may present themselves for my business in the future. I use the notes to remind myself about what I am doing and why I am doing it. The notes provide an amazing reflection about myself and my goals. The notes become a sort of self-reliance, which provides some of the most valuable support to my every step in this journey. And I suspect, that the note feature allows me to become more familiar with-myself, whatever that means.

Places like this forum are great. They provide amazing support and knowledge, yet it's important to remember that the process of building a business ultimately falls upon our own decisions. I feel that as entrepreneurs, we must be able to rely on ourselves, and trust our guts. I have made decisions which go against what some successful people advised. I have taken some amazing huge risks - and I have been able to do that because I trust my gut/instincts more than I trust anybody or anything else. And I believe that it is talking to myself through note pad, which has really made such a difference in my actions.

So does anybody do this? There are a million ways to do it. A journal, notepad, Word, or napkin, voice recorder, Google Groups (with yourself) and so on.

I have full conversations with myself, often playing the roles of multiple people. But usually just playing my own role and using the voice in my head to respond. In multiple languages, too.

I've done this since I learned how to talk. Didn't grow up with brothers, sisters or friends until later in childhood. I knew it was weird so I often didn't do it in public. I still don't do it in public. But I still think in 'conversation mode' with myself. I think it's actually improved my social skills.
