Question What expenses do I need to take into account?

    Hello everyone!

I live in Japan and I'm on the path to start up a Fastlane-style business here. I'm not amazing at Japanese though, so I need to rely on people who are, and understandably, that cuts into my income.

I'm in the phases right before launching, and I'm "hiring" my first salesman. I offered him a decent pay, though it's by no means generous. We talked today and he's asking for a more generous bonus package, which is understandable to me. I've been good friends with him for a long time, and I know he will do a great job, so I'm okay paying him a bit more. Only thing is, I don't know exactly what all my expenses will be.

Can you help me think of things I will need to be paying to run my company? It is basically a website where I connect buyers and sellers, and I will be charging a vendor fee for companies who are advertising. (Without my salesman friend, I will never get any vendors on to the community!) These are the only expenses I can think of:

    -Taxes on income
    -Maintaining the website/hosting/domain
    -Paying my sales guy
-Setting up the corporation and the ongoing fees associated with that
    -Accountant/Tax advisor

What are some other things I need to take into consideration?

    Thanks in advance!

Bank fees (checks, credit cards), production costs, insurance, employer portion of taxes paid on employees wages (applies to US not sure about Japan), sales guy supplies like phone, biz cards, notebooks, letterhead, postage. Accounting & CRM software, business licenses, property taxes. Do you have a facility? Rent, insurance, utilities. Then figure another 20% for more stuff.

Healthstatus, thanks a lot for your input! I will sit down and calculate these out. Might just make his commission a bit lower until we reach a certain sales point that allows me to safely cover all these expenses, then give him a much higher commission after that point.
