Default Giving away your idea for the sake of funding.

What would you do if you had a good idea for a business, which was unique and looked like it had viral potential but currently lacked the funding for it?

Kickstarter: You put your idea up for the worldwide web to see in hope that you will get funding and be able to complete your project to a acceptable standard.. but in reality aren't you giving your idea out/clearly showing all these people your idea, while showing that you lack funds and have not finished the project therefore leaving a hole of opportunity to those who may have the money on-hand but not the ideas?

??? Learn to code, although this will take time either way, outsourcing is preferred.

Someone more experienced please set me straight.
    (my idea is an app)

Id estimate around 20k, possibly less.. Would be a interactive game with a twist (not much of a storyline)

I get that you want to protect your idea. But in all honesty, ideas are a dime a dozen. And even if someone else hears your idea, 99% of them won't do anything.

Execution is what matters the most in the end.

Hmm, sounds like I should start looking into selling the idea on Kickstarter then.

I have no experience with Kickstarter so I'm not saying you should or shouldn't. Maybe you can use the decision matrix MJ talks about to help you decide. Here's the site MJ made: http://www.helpmydecision.com/

How'd you get to the 20k estimate?
