With all of this negative economic news coming out the past few days I am feeling really good that I have the entrepreneur mindset...relying mainly on myself not on a company for my survival.
Gone are the days when working for a fortune 500 company I would breathe a sigh of relief for the weekends only to be met with the Sunday blues of geez I hope I don't get let go this coming week. I have friends who spend all their days tied to a desk calling out to their customers in hopes of making their sales numbers...you can really feel their stress when the month starts to come to a close. Oh how I remember those days...as MJ says in the book trading 5 days of work for 2 days off.
My advice that I have shared with my friends is turn off the talking heads and invest your time in yourself and your families. To help grow my business this past summer I spent the majority of the time investing in myself...learning to code websites as well as creating web portals for some of my new clients.
I always remind my friends of a story that was told to me a few years back. Remember when our great, great, great grandparents settled here in the US they had NO luxuries to get them through the day/night (no Lowes/Walmarts/grocery stores/etc) they to me were the true trail blazing entrepreneurs they wanted a better life and they left nothing stop them from getting it. With that in mind I am focusing really hard on improving myself and my family for the coming year as I know that is one thing I can truly control.
To sum it up stay Creative & keep the entrepreneur mindset alive in yourself!!!
