I have an apple iPad. I bought it because it was "freaking awesome" but also use it for work.

The citrix app lets me run many of the programs I need for my job, and the outlook exchange lets me get my email without having to lug around my full blown laptop. For 2-3 day sales trip where I am not doing heavy computing, the iPad works great.

Its also nice because I can watch netflix in the hotel room if there is nothing on the tube, as well as play a buttload of games.

I have an ipad. I bought it just cuz it was cool, but after a while I started using it more and more. Mainly for ebook and whatnot. Still don't use it to it's full potential.

I have an iPad. I bought it to show off. I don't like it, and I rarely use it.

    I prefer laptops.

iPad2 - business, pleasure, (twitter, email, omniplan, safari, goodreader, garageband and many more apps. I read the Millionaire fastlane book on my iPad2's kindle app - I actually read more now that I don't have to carry books around, and is great for having a library of reference books at my fingertips on various subjects). Especially useful on airplanes, don't have to worry about awkwardly opening a laptop, people spilling food or drinks on it, and so forth. Only downside is wasting time playing scrabble & angry birds - a slowlane activity :-)

There are actually some cool tablets coming out now that are convertible; meaning that you can attach a keyboard and be able to type on them. That was actually my main criticism of tablets; that they were just like giant smartphones; you couldn't really do any serious work on them, but now that's changed with the introduction of convertible tablets:

I was issued an iPad at work a few months ago. I use it all the time.

    • Email, naturally
    • Calendar (Google)
    • Note taking (Penultimate -- I bought a stylus)
    • Editing documents (QuickOffice)
    • Reading (KIndle for e-books like Millionaire Fastlane, GoodReader for just about anything else that's in PDF)
    • News, weather, etc. Entrepreneur magazine. Lots of others.
    • For continuing your education, you cannot beat iTunesU. All free. I have a course on there right now on Game Theory and another on Financial Markets. (Of course, I also have several episodes of Mad Men.)

I don't know if I could justify the expense if I had to pay for it all out of my own pocket. The cost of the iPad itself and the 3G wireless service, that is. Most of those apps and content I mentioned were free or not terribly expensive. The standard AT&T plan gives you 2GB/month, and so far I haven't come close to using up all 2GB and I use the wireless every day.

The iPad2, because its freakin awesome! I've already noticed the other new tablets are having sales on their models cause they just can't compete with Apple. I use it for some business use for watching videos, email, internet and also for reading books.

Samsung Galaxy Tab, iPad and iPad 2.
I no longer use the Galaxy and iPad, my father took the galaxy tab and my girlfriend took the iPad lol.
On my iPad 2, I use it for pleasure, Books application (That's where I read the fastlane from!), Some random games, Netflix, safari browsing. I only use it for media consumption. For productivity, I use my Macbook Air as it's very small and light (13").
For my business though, I will be integrating an iPad with Daylite and LightSpeed Mobile

I don't own one personally, but I develop for Motion Computing CL900

in my work, we need to run SQL database, web server (local), etc. no way any android or iPad can get even close to these business solutions, it needs a full OS.

I don't really get the "app" buzz. I'm quite sure soon enough there will be 3 types of sites.. the regular www.site.com, the m.site.com for mobiles and the t.site.com for tablets/touch. As soon as the browsers will be able to gather sensor info (accelerometer, camera, etc) then any website will be able to do what the apps do... no need to code for android, windows phone, apple, blackberry, etc.

I'm going to get an iPad to accept credit cards. I recently started using Square to accept payments (I'm done with Paypal) and the Square credit card slider can be plugged into an iPad turning it into the coolest merchant processing machine ever.

That's very interesting, it will be interesting to see how tablets develop as a merchant platform. I just saw a stat that people on tablets buy more than smart phones.

iPad. Why? Integrates with my macbook pro and iPhone (the latter of which I just got recently). I'm counting on the cloud to sync files between all three machines. That will be rad!

I fly a lot and find that the iPad is the perfect intermediate device. It's big enough to type on. It's good with emails and searches. I have the 3G Verizon version, so it's usable anywhere I go. I used an app to do a rudimentary sketch of a store buildout. I write notes (I can type on it easily). I use an app in which I take handwritten notes with a stylus. I don't own a TV so I watch movies/documentaries on Netflix on it. Also, since I fly often the long battery life has made my travel way more productive...and I can listen to music while I work. I have an Office app so I have all my businesses' spreadsheets with me. Oh, and I have To-Do app for jotting the important stuff down.

The only things I do on a computer nowadays are: Work on graphics in Photoshop, make changes to our website in Dreamweaver, record music in Logic (my hobby), write longer pieces in Word. That's the gist of it.

Got an Ipad last November and I love it. I use it to VPN into my computer if I need to do a quick change, but the biggest thing I do with it is read books, mainly on entrepreneurship and working in certain industries. That alone is worth the price. I also use it for vidya games, but that's not really a business need.

I have an iPad2, I use Line2, Twitter, Email, Safari, Shazam, Zillow, Kindle, and many more apps. I read the Millionaire Fastlane on my iPad2's kindle app and it lead me to the fastlane forum through a link in the book- I read more now that I don't have to carry books around, and is great for having a library of reference books at my fingertips on various subjects. Especially useful on airplanes, don't have to worry about awkwardly opening a laptop, people spilling food or drinks on it, and so forth.

Got an HP Touchpad, works good, light/med use email, surfing, reading, lyrics for karaoke in my man cave! etc... I also agree the convertible tablets are prob the best all around. I do prefer a finger touchpad and keyboard as it is much quicker to navigate than touching the screen on a tablet.
