    Default Biggest Challenge for 2008

I was searching and reading the post about http://www.thefastlanetomillions.com...ggest+obstacle

I would like to ask everyone questions.

    1. What is your biggest challenge / obstacle in 2008?
    2. How do you plan to conquer that?

Personally, my biggest challenge for 2008 is to target the right customers / niche (increase conversion rate), who is willing to pay for high profit margin products.

I am planning to target a specific group of people (niche), who is willing to pay for the products that I am selling. Those people may not be found easily, but they have more buying power. In order to do so, I need to penetrate into the niche with right people.

    1. Give away free product to people who has good exposure and contacts in the niche.
    2. Give commission to the people who refer other customers
    3. Sponsor the social event in their niche. It may costs me a lot more. Need to calculate the ROI.

    Does that sound practical? Thanks!

    What's your challenge?

For me it is the year of Finishing ...

    Finish my *dream* home...
    Finish my book ...

The challenge is finding motivation. I have it pretty good right now. I don't desire anything more than what I already have. The book club book (YMOYL) talks about this as being the land of enough.

I am debt free, have the big house, nice cars, a beautiful girlfriend, a great family, and plenty of time. This lack of pain and living free doesn't help motivate me. While it's nice to take a break, I always like to have goal with a pressing "why" behind it.

    MJ:

If you have too much time, there may be something to motivate you.

No matter how rich or busy I am, I always try to do some charity work. I deliver foods to homeless people weekly, help setting up free clinic event for people who could not pay for the medical bill.

By doing charity work, it helps identifying myself. My life is good. I have a small house that is big enough for two. I have a supportive wife, a nice SUV, and I am debt free too. I pretty much spend my weekend outdoor and help poor people.

By helping out those poor people, it makes me feel lucky. I appreciate those people who gave me the chance to help them and gave me motivation not to be one of them for the rest of my life.

I work hard and trying to keep my current life style. However, I often found myself not as happy as those poor people. That made me re-thinking about the purpose of my life.

I actually met this guy last night. David Sylvester is an entrepreneur who become famous recently.

He gave Phoenix Club-E members a great speech last night. To make it short, it's all bout dream bigger than you can handle.

May be you can find motivation by doing something like that. :-)

Your "Why" seems pretty simple to me. You're obviously driven to help other people, and tell your story. After the little taste we all got in your "success story", I for one would love to hear the details & background that got you through those tough times.

    Cheers,

My biggest challenge this year is to catch up
from a mistake I made last year.

I write a novel and a novella every year.
Since I need at least 2 published works a year
    to keep readers interested,
    I don't have wiggle room.

    Well, last year,
I tried to cut corners by not writing to a plot
(I'm a plotter, pantsers can pull that off, I can't).
    The manuscript was horrible.
My brutally honest (and gifted) pre-editor said
it wasn't up to the standards of my previous novels.

    I thought about fixing it
but there is so much wrong
that the best I could do is make it a good book.
That's not good enough (for me).

    So I'm hustling to write
    an extra novella this summer
    to fill in the gaps.
This novella is already plotted out,
    with characters drafted
    (learned my lesson)
but it is still a stretch.

    Live and learn.
