I don't think we mentioned bloggers - Getting quality ones to mention you is tough though - have any experience with this?
I also want to start looking into guest blogging - You get to do a blog post on something and in return you get a link back to your website/product which is good if it's a popular blog but also can have some beneficial SEO qualitys... What do you think?
Here are a few tips I have for you that you can do quickly and for free.
First of all, you're over 50 posts on here, so add your URL into your signature and use a keyword that you would like to see move up on Google. You're posting on here anyways, so why not use it to benefit you even more and have a link sent to your site every time you post!
Second, I like to read articles and comment on them. Many Wordpress blogs allow you to leave a URL. Unlike the backlinks that you can buy on Wicked Fire and Warrior Forum, these links will most likely not disappear and are more likely to be indexed by Google. Read a quick article, comment on something relevant to the article, include your link, and voila, you have create a decent link without spamming in less than 2 minutes and you've probably learned something interesting as well. I like to read blogs about things I enjoy such as entrepreneurship, piano, art, travel, etc. so I don't get bored.
Lastly, you can create web 2.0 blogs very easily. There are many sites that allow you to create blogs in less than 5 minutes. I only use sites that don't require you to verify your email address. These sites include Tumblr, Weebly, Wix, Webnode, Edicy, and Yolasite. Out of these sites, Tumblr is my favorite because it allows you to publish your article on future dates, so that you can spread your articles out for months or even years, but they're all great sites to start with.
Well for me, there are certain aspects of SEO that I enjoy more than others, and blog commenting is definitely one of them. If I can spend 10 minutes a day learning about new stuff while I'm eating breakfast, and I can post 5 comments every morning, in one month, I will have 150 links (or even if only 4 out of every 5 comments make it onto the page, 120 links) from PR2-PR6 sites that I probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Combine those links with the packages that I buy on WF and Warrior and the signatures that I have on this forum and others and I've got a pretty decent set of links coming in.
Yes, I love piano! I have been playing for 9 years now![]()

Probably very little traffic. I would like to get mostly organic traffic, so this is just to boost my PR. I don't post on a lot of sites related to what I sell (even though I probably should) and I doubt that the people who read the blogs that I comment on are really into rave stuff, so it's just for SEO.

Did a bit of research and found these:
Run a sale with a daily deal site
Obviously you cant do this with everything, but if you can, its a great way to gain some exposure.
Run a competition
Along the lines of "If you are one of the first 100 people to tweet this promotion you could win….”
Could get you great exposure if your contest idea is unique and creative and because everybody loves contests.
One Word Campaign
Use several different conventional (and unconventional) marketing techniques to get out one word, one word related to your campaign. (Many of the techniques I mention below are good ways of “getting the word out.”) First, post just the word in many different places to get people’s attention. After several days/weeks of featuring just the word, start associating a date with the word. This date would represent the day/time the meaning of the word will be revealed. By creating a mystery around the word, you capture your audience’s attention and intrigue them into learning more. Once the meaning of the word is revealed hopefully the rest of your marketing plan is sound enough to achieve the desired results.
Weird one:
Spray-painted signs. In the early 1970s "Hamp Baker says Drive with Care" was spray-painted on car hoods salvaged from crumpled automobiles, then those hoods were tied with bailing wire to barbed-wire fences along roadsides here and there. Nobody in Oklahoma knew who Hamp Baker was, but his name was soon a household word. When he later ran for public office, he won by a landslide.
This was cool:
Sidewalk Chalk
Write a message in a high-traffic sidewalk that will catch peoples attention. It will last until it rains.

You know, just try stuff! I just turned 20, so I have a little bit more to invest in marketing than you, but I like trying other techniques too. Yesterday, I sold stuff at a concert here in Phoenix and I decided to make some labels (which I made at school, so they didn't cost me anything) and glued them onto 48 water bottles that cost me $5.12. I figured that if I made one sale from handing out all of those water bottles, I would make a profit and it was fun seeing people carrying around my water bottles during the shows.
Was it the best use of my time? Who knows, but I had fun doing it, I made thirsty people happy, and it made me some money. Just experiment. Yes there are tried and true ways of doing things, but all great things were made/found through innovation and experimentation.
By the way, this is the piece I'm in the middle of learning right now. Pavane pour une Infante defunte
I usually play Yann Tiersen stuff, but I felt like doing something different.
No, you can use a Wordpress site for anything that you'll be driving traffic to. Wordpress blogs are great and I have them on most of my sites. The thing about Web 2.0 blogs is that they're really meant for Google, not potential customers. Chances are that no living being will ever actually see your Web 2.0 blogs, so it doesn't really matter what they look like. They're just for building links to your site.So you wouldnt recommend to use Wordpress for a blog? I just dont like how un-professional those type of sites look like.
High quality guest posts on relevant blogs with good traffic. Can't beat that.

Publicity stunt is definitely going to be one were going to do for cliqflip---
Everything else we pretty much are already doing - After making this list I was thinking about making a guide of how to do each one effectively (since were doing 99% of it) - What do you think? Would it be useful
Giveaways can work well. Maybe offer a sample/scaled down/freebie version of your product to give them a taste. For example: MJ gives away a few chapters of TMF when you sign up for his mailing list.
I'm doing all of this and not getting as much traffic as I want
We need more ideas!
