Are you asking because you want to get an idea of a market to get into?
I would ignore that data. It is almost irrelevant. There is no way it can give you an idea of how much money you can make in that industry. Instead, find companies that you feel you can compete with in a market that you are interested in. Find out how much they are making and what they are doing to make it.
Hi, you asked a very wide question - so here is a fairly wide answer:
Business Stats (Free Business Statistics, Financial Ratios and Industry Statistics by BizStats) - industry stats and financial ratios
Business Partner Network (Business Partner Network) - government business information databases
Crestmont Research (Crestmont Research: Financial Market and Economic Research) - market and financial analysis
Dun and Bradstreet (D&B) - global and business risk analysis
ERSYS (STI: ERsys - Earth Resource System) - maps and demographics
Hoovers (Hoovers | Business solutions from Hoovers) - business support
Howe Street (HoweStreet.com | The Source for Market Opinions) - equity market information
KnowX (http://www.knowx.com) - business investigation information
Manta (Company Profiles & Company Information on Manta) - small business information
Plenty of meat there...

I was asking simply because I was curious where the info could be found that backs these types of statements up. Certainly familiar with D&B but I didn't know if maybe there was 1 "expert" source. I suppose I should've asked the question that way. Thanks for the resources.
