Nothing new here but I think its great to see this question being asked and the conventional wisdom questioned.

The first step is seeing the problem (working 40+ hours for a company) the next is finding a solution (Fastlane).

I piggyback on fastlaners. It's not as fast as being a Fastlaner, but its a helluva lot less work.

I love seeing you're posts, because it obviously is an approach of working smarter, rather than harder(in this case harder really meaning longer hours since you obviously 'do your homework'). Although, I have to ask, do you ever get the urge of wanting to lead a project which impacts a large group of people? It's a question of curiosity since reading your posts we have different mindsets, and I cannot see myself being content without doing something like that.

I don't really have the urge to lead a project that impacts a large group of people. I'd rather be a shareholder of a company that impacts a large group of people. It just suits my personality better. For better or worse, I'm a financial hedonist.
