    Question Small Business Advice?

    Hey everyone! How ya doin?

My basic plan: Start up a small business so I can keep up with insurance, then start my actual business when I have enough startup capital.

I'm 15. I'm trying to do this whole thing without doing the cliche thing by grabbing a shovel/lawnmower and saving up until I have the cash I need. That would take years.

I had a small advertisement 'business' in progress that went under due to a bad marketing strategy. (I'm considering re-birthing it, but am open to other options.)

Basically, I'm asking: What small businesses could a 15 year old start up?

    Thanks all!

Internet Marketing is by far, one of the most valuable skills you could learn right now. You're at the perfect age to start learning, so keep learning. By the time you're 17 and 18, you will have a ton of experience and be very knowledgeable in the subject.

Continue studying, and learn as much as possible. Get your own website up and running and perform different techniques on it. Start a website that you will stick with for years. One that you will be interested in for the long run, no matter what it is. A blog, a niche website, or a cool sort of social bookmarking site. Hell, even if it's a online store. By the time you're 17-18 years old I have no doubt that your website will be ranking on the first page in the search engines for multiple keywords. You will be bringing in a good amount of money (could be hundreds, and could definitely thousands or more) every month, and being 17 or 18 years old you'll be extremely happy with that .

Then try to find people who need help with marketing and offer to market their site for a small amount of change, sell yourself and show that you are knowledgeable. Get that experience under your belt of working with different clients, and even if you fail when marketing their site, you will still end up with more than you lost.

I started just a little bit later than you, but oh how I WISH I could have received this advice at your age. Trust me, get a site up NOW, work HARD on it (make sure the design is crisp, recruit people to help if you can, make sure the content is fresh and update it often, and never give up or screw anyone over), and be smart about it. Study, try different techniques, ask for advice from different Internet Marketers, look at case studies, grab the proper tools you need in order to properly measure your progress.

You have a great head start and plenty of time to experiment and learn.

Also, if your advertising business failed because of bad marketing, put it to the side until you get more experience and skill. Start something else, anything except that.
