Default The "State" of information on the internet

What does everyone thinks of the "state" of information that's on the world wide web?

You have to be more specific.

depends on what type of information and where you are trying to get it from.

things from .edu and wiki are more likely to be trusted than things in the .com range. if you can dig in to databases, the information there can be pretty solid such as journals or news archives from lexis-nexis.

i think it reflects the "state" of information in the world, just cuz it is written and published or someone told you in person doesn't make it any more valid, people put their opinions online and if they could write/publish or tell you, they do tell you the same things too.

the challenge is how to extract the "good" ones.

We have information overload already, since there are no gatekeepers on the met. This is good and bad at the same time. Good because more and more people express their opinion and learn what they want, bad because there are scammers. But with social networking it's way easier to call out BS and scammers or unfair companies.
