Default NEW to the FASTLANE? Read this first. :)

The following link is given with lots of love.

As far as overall impact, it's more important almost everything else discussed on these forums. It can REALLY make a difference in your real estate career or growing business.

In fact, all successful business investors rely on this, heavily:

    Due Diligence.

    Here's the thing:

The above link is only one of MANY on this topic (google a few more on "due diligence" and read 'em, you'll learn a lot).

Due Diligence, in general, is using the tools available to you in order to answer your questions.

I realize that posting a question on these forums is "using the tools available to you". When you do this, though, you're asking others to take time out of their busy days to answer a basic question that you can find the answer to with a simple google search.

If what you find (or read) from google confuses you, then it might be a good time to ask others here for clarification.

Please note that I'm not trying to discourage anyone from asking questions.

    Just the opposite, actually.

I want you to ask *more* questions.

    Of yourself.

And of the things you want to learn.

And then, use things like google, your county courthouse, MLS, the county clerk, and thousands of other spots to find your answers--reading and getting answers on your own.

As you get better at this, you will find it's a lot of fun (well, at least most investors think so).

Kinda like being a private investigator for whatever business investment or idea you're looking at.

Due diligence is one of the most powerful elements of successful RE investing.

Good luck with it. And have fun-- it's a big part of cruising in the FASTLANE!

Russ, I might suggest an edit of your original post to include ANY of the hot topics that get a lot of questions. eBusiness comes immediately to mind.

Hey, I think I'll start a separate thread, to ask what the regulars think the FAQs are.

We could then have a whole section just for this, one topic per thread.

    Whatdya think?

    No denying that.

Yup, I remember I went through the entire forum and compiled a list of threads that dealt with answers to questions that most new users had... I thought it was stickied, but I guess not :/

    Kuhl! Where's the list?

Bump it to the top, and I can sticky it.

I'm pretty sure someone deleted it. From what I remember, you stickied it at some point.

Hmm . . . most of the threads here *never* get deleted. I'm sure something you worked so hard on would not have been deleted.

I just don't remember it-- if I stickied it, it should still be there (the mods and MJ don't go around deleting *or* unsticking things)

Least as far as I know!!!

I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for best practices...just wondering if this "FAQ" post was ever found/created?

Welcome to the fastlane Rich. I don't think it was ever put together but...if you click under the general section

    General Business Discussion

You will see a lot of stickies there with legendary stuff. There may be other stickies in other sections with hidden gems as well. Good luck.
