I have a couple ??'s about this...

When you add speed to a user how many points does that give them.
and
Some will post "great post! rep ++++" While others will post "rep +". Does it make a difference to to type additional + signs?
At first I thought it was because they would give the good poster that many +'s by clicking the add rep, but then I read that you can only give one rep per post. (I admit that before I read that I did give someone more than one rep for their post, sorry bout that)

I just want to make sure I'm doing things right around here.

You are pretty much on target. You can only give them rep points once per post. The number of points you give them is dependent on your own rep speed. If you have more speed you give more points. You cannot choose how much to give them, it's all or nothing. The extra +++++ signs don't affect rep points given but may indicate how much the reader enjoyed the post. Hope this helps.

The amount of rep points that you give someone is determined by how many you have. What you post means nothing in regards to points. It's usually just a way of letting other people know that you appreciated that post. So, saying "Great post! Rep!", "Great post! Rep+", and "Rep+++" all mean the same thing.

You give rep points to a user by clicking on the button under the area that displays the user's current speed which reads "Good Post? Add speed to user" or something of that nature.
