Default Suggestion: Downloadable post archives of key fastlane posters please?

I've noticed that most of the valuable information on this forum is in old posts and found via the search tool and is posted (for the most part) by a few key posters. It would be awesome if all their posts were downloadable in seperate pdf archives for offline viewing, which would only contain their posts.

At the moment I have to search and sift through alot of noise to find the key posts. So I would pay and/or sign up to the insider forum for downloadable, offline viewable pdf's of certain posters posts, ie. MJ, Biophase, snowbank, Vigalante, Jscott, Rickson9 etc. I'm sure there are plenty more key posters with great info in old posts that I don't even know about. Other forums have adopted this concept and it's the quickest way to learn IMO. Minumum noise, maximum value!

Also if I'm looking for information on a certain topic eg. cold calling. I could search the pdf's for tha phrase and know I'd be getting the best possible information from people who actually know what they are talking about.

MJ is it possible/do you plan to implement something like this? The knowledge would be invaluable and (dare I say it) even more beneficial than the TMFL book itself.

Yeah, we could also add a highly profitable turnkey business package that makes you a millionaire for just $99 (only today! normal price is $9999). That would be even more beneficial than your suggestion.

Seriously, if you want everything handed on a silverplate you won't succeed in business.

The above post by Theag is a great example of the noise I am specifically trying to avoid.

I agree with theag though, what he is saying isn't noise it is the truth. It's the same way you succeed in business, you learn what you need to learn and maximize yourself, you do due diligence. What good is all the info going to do for you out of context? what's to say what is good and what is not? It doesn't make sense. All the posters you posted about do very different things and have very different types of posts.

the search function is beautiful because if i want info about cold calling, i search cold calling, and read everything this forum has to offer on it. Whats to say someone who is a pro cold caller yet only has 5 posts leaves a long detailed piece of info... are you going to disregard that because someone who has 200mph rep said a two liner about getting it done? What about the rest of the info in the thread and the progressions?

Just allows for offline viewing/searching while I'm commuting etc. Finding gold posts I wouldn't have otherwise known existed etc. Searching for specifics would be a bonus.

It's not perfect obviously. Yes, you'd miss out on alot of context and other key posts certainly, and I'm not discrediting other posters at all, I just think it would be hugely beneficial to have access to these archives in an easily disseminable format for offline perusal. I've seen other forums where this has been done to great effect.

Also it comes down to individual learning styles, I learn really effectively by just reading masses of information, finding the patterns, and then have the ability to immediately apply what I've learned, I still go through the normal failing and learning cycle but it drastically speeds up that cycle. Others learn better by doing, others by seeing, and others by actively communicating. A post dump/archive would be less effective for these types of learners.

It was, afterall, just a suggestion. The information is there anyway, it just makes it more accessible in my opinion.

What other forums have you seen this on? I troll forums since 1999 and have never seen something like that (not counting the PDF guide some niche forums sell obviously).

MASF archives is one example. In the end it was these archives that helped to compile the NY times best seller 'The Game'.

So you want to compile a book out of the stuff posted here?

*sigh* No. Presumably the posts are under some kind of copyright so that would be illegal even if I wanted to, which I don't.
When Neil compiled the game as a collection of posts and his own personal experiences he had to get sign off's from all individual posters I believe.

Either way that's irrelevant, and if that was my intention I'd just code a crawler real quick and rip the posts myself. Which I can do anyway mind you, but thought there was benefit here for others...

I can understand if you don't like/agree with the suggestion, that's fair enough, I can't understand why you'd attack me or think I have some kind of ulterior motive for posting it though.

There's an old thread on here in which I offered to aggregate such information and offer it for sale, or for free as an add-on to an insider subscription, and frankly, it wasn't well received. It's been on my list to aggregate links to create a "Best Of" section on the Inside, but frankly I just haven't gotten around to it.

Interesting...I was never aware of the aggregate add-on that wasn't well received. A Best of Section on the inside sounds good.
