Sticky Using Tags When Creating Threads

A new feature of the forum is TAGGING which allows us to classify content easier.

When creating a thread, enter TAGS (or KEYWORDS) that best describe the thread you are creating.

For example, Jason just posted a thread about real estate market cycles.

I added the tags "real estate, economics, market cycles".

As the forum grows, this will allow us to classify content very easily -- you can click on TAGS to view all content related to those tags.

This will really help making content easier to find, especially for the newbies.

    Thx
    MJ

PS: I've taken the weekend off, so no changes to the forum have happened in the last 48 hours. I will resume on Monday.

Now, THAT is a great feature I wish every forum had implemented!

Also, for anyone that has started threads, you can EDIT the THREAD and add the tags. There is no need for it to only be on new threads.

Like Russ' planning thread ... if he EDITS the original post, I think he can add tags "planning, plans, goals" for example.

Is there a list anywhere to see what tags were already used? That way it should be easier to use the same terminology...

You don't need to worry about what was already used, just pick the best words. Try to stick to one or two word phrases. Eventually I will get a Tag Cloud on the front page so everyone can see the terms.

Until then, you can also view them by hitting:

    http://www.thefastlanetomillions.com/tags.php

Also, ANY REGISTERED USER CAN ADD TAGS to the threads, even if you did not start the thread. So if you are reading a thread and want to add a relevant tag, click "Edit Tags" and add at will.

WOW that tag cloud is cool! Do the fonts get larger when the tag word gets more popular or is there another reason?

Yes, I believe so ... the bigger the tag, the more the term has been applied.

Just a BUMP and a reminder. . . people have started to neglect this option and it is very important to get the forum found for popular topics.
