Default For those fastlaners.....how do you?

Find business partners that are crucial to the startup of your business?

For example, I have a great idea but I need to find a company that can help create a household chemical product with certain properties that I need for this idea to work.

Where do you find such information like this?

Reason why I'm asking is because I was reading through a forum today about a product called Eartop

They were able to get these engineers to design something for them with specific needs.....but where do you find such engineers that aren't huge companies that would take on such a small project for you?

Do a simple search like the one I did and start making calls.

Last summer we were bouncing around an idea for a new spin on those foam pool things. We use them as floaties in our pool and wanted to make something else out of them. We just started walking into companies here in the Phoenix area and asking them "Can you make this?"...if they said no, we asked "do you know anybody that might?' Then we would go on to that person. We found someone to make us a few to test the market and we then went and found someone in China to make them, ultimately we decided we just did not want to pivot into a hard good, but the bottom line is start knocking on doors. We have found people who might hang up on you on the phone are a lot more cordial when you walk into their place of business. Make calls, knock on doors, make a pest of yourself if you have too.

Thanks everyone. Doing more research and calling companies I've come closer to finding what I'm looking for.

    Sorry for the useless thread.

It isn't useless. The only really useless question is the one you never ask.

Good luck finding what you are looking for.
