Just read this last night great stuff! Rep+++ for sharing before I could haha.

-One thing I noticed is Tim is not really a fan of making big bucks, rather, he really advocates having a passive job that brings in 60-100k and living off of that, not that that is bad its just a different way or doing things

Well, Im not sure I would personally see it that way since Tim is a multi-millionaire and an angel investor; I do like him somewhat. Good read as you say.

I mean he is very successful and he a multimillionaire, but he advocates the passive job that makes only what you need to live your life how you want to (he calls it your lifestyle quotient). He doesn't say get super rich, he says calculate what you need to live comfortably and make that amount passively so you can do whatever you love. Not a bad thing, just a different approach on the retired(esque) lifestyle. I like the guy also, the 4 hour body has helped me tremendously in re-vamping my diet and workouts!

If he is a multimillionaire it is probably from selling his books. I do not believe his supplement company ever made more than a few hundred thousand a year if that much. This is based upon my knowledge of his companies ranking at BB.com and not being in any major bricks and mortar stores nor carried by the large distributors before he sold it.

I believe he sold the company for less than 500K.

My info could be wrong however I do believe it tp be accurate.

His winning the kickbox championship in China has never been verified. The website for that sport does not even mention Tim Ferris.

That being said if I had to choose one book(besides Fast Lane Millionaire of course) out of the 30 + books I have read on business, 4 hour work week would be by and far the #1 without a shadow of a doubt.

Even though I enjoy working and would never want to work only 4 hours a day let along 4 per week, I LOVED the book and reference it every few week.s

The book is completely crammed full with actual useful info and not a bunch of esoteric BS as many are IMO. Has actual website addresses you can go to and get info and he even gives specific company names for warehousing, production etc.

So maybe he didn't make his money on that business maybe he fibbed about somethings in the book about himself. To me it doesn't mean the book isn't simply an amazing work which I do not think I could write in two lifetimes.

Bring value to the market and the money will follow. I am sure Tim Ferris did well in his first company. He used it as a springboard for what his true calling is and that is an author. Which as MJ has mentioned is a Fastlane business which MJ know first hand. Thanks for posting this article. It certainly has educational value.

Wow, very informative post. This is very insightful information that can't be learned from a classroom, or even a seminar.

No you are right. He is a smart tack. As I understand, his supplement company was not a huge sale. He has mainly made his money from speaking, authoring, and investing; I will take a guess that a chunk of his money came from investing with his buddy K. Rose.
