Progress Thread: The Paint Brush Cover

I'm not saying he should do this right away, but that I would consider it at some point as I think it could benefit his brand greatly. He clearly has an awesome product with a broad appeal - so it's not like a logo will make or break him, though. It was just my 2 cents and my opinion having worked with branding i the past

I searched Amazon for "paint brush cover" and found absolutely nothing that resembled a paint brush cover. When I remodeled my house and needed a tool I couldn't find at Lowes my next place to look was always Amazon...you will have a huge market opportunity there. Looking forward to seeing more of your success!

I just saw a the picture of the Paint Brush Cover mustachio. Pretty dang cool. Have you thought about approaching a paint brush manufacturer with a licensing deal or even sell your own paint brushed with the covers to increase sales? Unless that's what you're already doing...

The though of approaching a brush manufacturer has crossed our minds but we decided against it, for now at least. It seems like we have a chance to do well without going that route. We would rather do it on our own, then to give a brush company a huge chunk of our profits. We're trying to build a brand with whole painting product line and selling to them will probably crush that idea.

We did think about eventually selling the covers with brushes included. Hopefully, somewhere down the line, we are able to do that.

You need to consider different mailing envelopes. Mine was delivered open, although everything was there.

About 6 stores in various parts of NY/NJ, 1 lead paint distributor in Brooklyn, a few stores doing doing test runs, and a number of stores that want it, but that we were not able to get to yet. Also we have the contact info for a number of store owners who own multiple stores. They're the hardest ones to get in contact with.

I don't expect that to be for a while.

How are internet sales going?

Slow so far, but we have not even done any Seo yet or advertised anywhere, except for a little on Facebook and Twitter.

What are you doing for marketing/advertising? all word of mouth/referrals so far?

Giving away free samples to bloggers, magazines, painting companies (including big franchises like CertaPro), local store owners, Unions, etc...

We will probably start advertising in a magazine geared towards Painting and Decorating Retailers. The same magazine is also going to do a nice write up on us in the "what's new" section.

Thanks for the order pal! Sorry about the envelope. I should have taped it. I just picked up Tyvek envelopes and it seems like the glue is much better than the previous ones. I hope that didn't happen to anyone else.

This is only meant as constructive criticism, and I don't mean this in a bad way. But I honestly think you could do better with a logo designed a little different.

We are making some changes to the packaging. We are actually using the same logo but adding "by Likwid Concepts" after it because we couldn't get "The Paint Brush Cover" trademarked. We are also putting the Likwid Concepts Symbol next to the logo.

Today we got word that a small paint store chain in NY/NJ wants to put the cover in all 9 of their stores.

I finally have a week free from my JOB. I am on a mission to get A LOT accomplished these week. I will be contacting bloggers, magazines and people in the industry all week, as well as signing up for trade shows looking into advertising a little.

Today was the reshoot of a few scenes for the video. We were told it went very well. I'm hoping to have it up by the end of the week. Its taking forever, but we want it done right.

We are working on something very special. Can't talk about it now, but it has huge potential.
