    Default I don't have a plan......

I did read the book millionaire fastlane but i don't know how to start making money. I'm 17 with a ton of free time and i want to desperately bail out of my school which demotivates me to try anything. I don't know how to find new idea even though there are tons of new things that could be made. I don't know how to start my story. I don't know how to make a good plan. My associations with everyday people are all slowlaners (well including me since i'm not working on something) and i can't avoid them because i see them everyday at school. My teachers are uninspiring. I feel lost......

    Hi Andreas -

You said you're 17, pardon my ignorance but are you still in high school then? My two cents is this if you're still in high school - take this time (assuming senior year) to reflect about what you want out of life and ask why (why do you want what you want out of life?). Continue on high school and get a diploma.

Be aware of key words from your peers like...."Oh I wish we have this or that to make our life easier...." or something along those lines.

And you said you're uninspired: go look for inspiration ONLINE! (it's free!) I personally listen to podcasts for inspiration (Do Over Guy - Matt Theriault is my favorite).

    All the best to you!

    Andreas,

You are already one step ahead of where I was at 17 because you found this forum. I would read everything you can get your hands on books and the web. If you want to get your feet wet look at businesses that do not cost a lot to start. Many will not be the ticket to riches but will provide you with some income and experience until you develop your fastlane plan. Plus you never know what will become fastlane along the way (look @1800gotjunk). One of my biggest regrets was not executing more ideas in my younger years because I did not think they would make me rich. Some examples of cheep businesses some I have done others I have passed on but wish I had. Craigslist flipping, internet marketing, ecommerce, snow cone stand, hot dog stand, lawn mowing, general yard maintenance, fix/clean up a used car and sell it for a profit, recycling service, catering/food deliver (there is a good story about a kid who delivers grilled cheeses via text message), web development, seo management, social media management, make buttons to sell at a concert or event, take pictures and sell them online, invent something and try to get it licensed, get groceries for the elderly or take them to the store.

Well this should get you started O and finish Highschool you are almost done anyways.

    Cool

HAHAHAHA, 17 is good and plenty. I took a two year diploma in the trades after high school and with student loans, and experienced life as a sidetracker. For some, they grow even older before they realize. Either way, seek inspiration, read books on entrepreneurship and tune your identity till you know who you are. However, kudos on being young and on this forum. You will do good.

Anyways, Speed++ to you for recognizing the beauty of fastlane at an age where many are groomed to follow the life of sidetrackers.

    Welcome to the forum Kiddo!
That is awesome, a lot of teenagers these days want to grow up really quickly but yea I don't blame you. Cause once you're in the real world then you either become a slave to money like me (only for the mean time). And hopefully to change over to the fastlane. However, enjoy your youth and make lots of friends (smart and rich ones, not dumb and poor ones like my ones lol...keep that a secret).

I just realized something about your comment "My associations with everyday people are all slowlaners". Lately, I have been attached to the forum ever since reading MJs book again. Now I completely understand why because there are a lot of entrepreneurs on this Forum who can honestly advise you. I don't know any retirees/entrepreneur in my street (well they wouldn't live in my street anyway) or local area (not to use that as an excuse to find some). To me it is like hanging out with the big boyz (Fastlaners) on this forum. I have time to study and at the same time tried to build a fastlane business.

Search for other threads on the forum.
Example: Amazing 12 yr old app developer

Maybe that 12yr old might give you some inspiration.

Best of luck and always persevere.

Thanks for the posts guys. I felt very desperate for a change. I'm sure you guys experience this too. When i suddenly became aware of the fastlane,my eyes, ears pick on everything i hate and scream to my mind for a change. I'm going to read more books and see if i get any inspiration.

    Hi Andreas,

I'm an 18-year-old college student and I can relate to where you're coming from. Interacting with "Slowlaners" every day at college is something that has been bothering me, too. There's a lot of times that I feel like I am wasting my time in lectures that aren't helping me... And I, too, want to start creating my plan now than later. I want be able to pay off the thousands of dollars in student loans for this UC that I'm attending.

My advice is to use the time you have! Time spent with Slowlaners can help you get a feel of what they need or want, and you can bridge ideas from observing Slowlaners... So I suggest becoming a people watcher. Use every bit of time at school to learn and grow by observing the millions that you come across... think about what they would want in a product or service.

I recommend keeping a journal or notebook of some kind to jot down ideas that pop into your mind. This way you won't feel like you're wasting your time. Every bit counts, and don't take education for granted, since it can teach you things that can spark millionaire-worthy ideas!

I understand what you are saying here. I need to be open minded and just let people's ideas flow out of their heads and not feel superior to them but i also need tight conversational skills. All i hear them talk about is sports all day. I don't know anything about making money with sports nor do i know how to make people talk about themselves and get some realistic ideas.

I decided that internet is the way to make money. It's either this or nothing. I don't communicate a lot with people now. But i have lot of free time in my hands so i can can sit down and do the hard work that is needed. My plan is to avoid the spirit crushing summer job that i will be asked to do in 5 months time. From then on it will be more serious work to increase my income so that i can avoid University and instead, travel around the world and work on my social skills.

Andreas, I expect what you are feeling is more common that you think. How many people do you think would love to be time rich and millionaires? Lots. How many are? More than we think but most are not. It's not that people don't want to be millionaires or fastlaners, I'd say most people do but even if they are thinking that they want to be millionaires they can't think of what to do or how to start.

Fortunately, MJ has what might be the answer for you and many in this video (which I think is one of his best!)...

Good video, oppurtunites are everywhere you just need to look in the right places and keep your eyes open. Try to write down some ideas on a daily basis you will get better at it as time goes on
