Almost a year and a half later - any update GLC?
Kevin

I heard the economy pummeled him pretty bad, but then again, a lot of real estate guys had to start over and reposition. It'd be nice to get an update.
I'm with MJ.
I'd love to hear the latest from GLC65 and SteveO. These were the resident apartment investing gods on the site. Neither of whom posts at all anymore...
I feel like this is when we'd really learn from them. What worked, and maybe more importantly, what didn't and why.

I talked to GLC65 quite a bit last year. Last spring break (this time last March) when I was home, GLC was nice enough to take time out to meet with me and take me for a ride in his orange Murcielago Roadster. Very motivating and the best car ride of my life.
GLC is a total class act, as I'm sure many of you know from what you have heard about him.
As far as GLC's and SteveO's current situations...I am sure both of them are completely engrossed in their work and do not have time to come to the forums to post. Almost everyone I know in real estate, even the big dogs in commercial, are hurting. Once the economy irons out we will hopefully hear what strategies/ creative methods they used to keep their heads above water, or how they rebuilt if they went belly up.
CRE has not seen the bubble burst yet like residential has. Commercial is scheduled to take a big hit through 2011.
Both GLC and SteveO are strong willed people and I have no doubt they will maintain or create new success with their businesses.
Hope to hear from both of them soon as well.

If what you did yesterday seems big, you have done nothing today.
SteveO gave a very valuable presentation in B&P 2010 this year. On top of that, he did a field trip to his apartment in Scottsdale. He talked about the issues he is facing and how he is dealing with it. For me, it's one of the most valuable presentations I saw.
G_Alexander is right, at least for SteveO, that these guys are hard at work with their investments. The dedication, hard work, and ingenuity these dudes show during tough times is what seperates rich fast laners, from whining, entrepreneurially paralyzed slow laners.

Any chance you might share any of the insights you gleaned from SteveO? I'm very curious how he's doing...especially since I know rents in AZ were hit very, very hard.
That said, you spent the time/money to attend B&P so if you don't want to share it I totally understand.

Just read the whole thing. Really great how you turned things around.
I've never worried to much about money. As long as I had a few exotics I was good to go. Now at 37 I finally met the love of my life and things change. Suddenly I got to plan for the future. My first goal is to get her business up and running, then on to rental property. But give me 2 years and I'll give my own success story.![]()
i just can't wait for more. stories like this keep my fire burning. GOD BLESS U G
I have 25,000 in cash how do I buy a property, preferably an 4-plex or something like that?
