Yea.. I was not happy! I had created multiple Screen names.. that were close to some of us heavy hitters.. So, other’s would not pose as us with one letter off. And so, when they merged the database with the new forum.. it defaulted to my last “dummy” screen name and I couldn’t get in with my real screen name. I didn’t have time to deal with it.. so, I just stopped going. I had already met people and doing good. Wasn’t that in 2003??

I wasn’t talking about them…. That’s why I quoted MJ in regards to only 6% showing up. That leaves 94%.. that’s who I was addressing. I don’t believe he was referring to them so, I apologize that you thought I was. BTW – only those people know who they are.. I haven’t even been on here long enough to know who they are so, I certainly wasn’t directing it to one or two people. It was more of a wake-up call for people on the fence.

I also wasn’t really talking about the cruise because that is more difficult to make but, rather the B&P event which is more easily accessible and much cheaper to afford to someone starting out.

I am VERY happy that you guys moderate the forum to keep it more real! That’s great! Thanks!

My post wasn't to anyone in particular and if it was, I'd have to look in the mirror. I'm just saying that anytime a get together is planned (regardless of topic/forum) the "I am interested" to actual people that go is like 15:1. I was planning to go on the cruise and lost my deposit when I canceled because my GF could not get off work and some of my health issues don't lend well to traveling.

I think Jill and Bobo are that last remaining to taunt Poseidon. .

I've seen Jill's pics, and she's already ship-shape. But Bobo might still be working on his land-legs after the bike run this weekend...sea-legs may elude him.

Yeah so it turned out that instead of a business building in a relaxed setting it will be 4 days of relaxing with my girlfriend/wife/business partner/mistress/triathlon training partner.

We can use the downtime. Been somewhat of a busy year what with a custody battle, that whole cancer/surgery/recovery thing (what I won't do for attention), the economy.... we've had a busy year so a few days at sea with a hot, swimsuit clad chick, fruity drinks, sandy beaches and peaceful relaxation will be most welcome.

Sorry the others had to bail but while I love you dearly I won't miss you - not often I get Jill all to myself sans cellphones, computers, work etcetera.

I'm one of those idiots who is happy and cheerful 99% of the time anyway so the setting and companion will pretty much make me annoyingly happy.

Oh, and the legs are fine, it was only 100 miles... took a rest day yesterday and have a triathlon to train for starting today. Funny thing about Cancer - if it doesn't kill you it WILL piss you off and get your full attention on getting yourself in top condition.

I really wanted to go on the cruise. Just FYI, remember my post about choosing attitude, and how I was moving, and how it looked to be a cluster? ...Well it is and it has been. I have been living out of a suitcase since July 15th, since my original close date was set to be July 18th...and it is now what, Aug 30? So far I have stayed in about 5 different hotels, 2 of my vacation rentals and with three different friends. Oh, and I have 2 dogs that have to go everywhere with me as they are afraid of being left behind--and I mean everywhere. I have cried, yelled and threatened. I no longer care. If I wasn't concerned about losing $7k in earnest money, I'd walk away.

To say that I have been under stress is an understatement. I not only wanted to go on the cruise, at this point I almost need to go just to take a break from BS. ...I anticipated a cluster, but I didn't anticipate a total debacle--yet here I am. Hence the reason I had to back out.

WOW, this thread has had a lot of comments since my last post (guess I have been gone a few days, lol) In any case, I too, lost my deposit (well, at least part of it). I was not anticipating being laid of and the trip was dependent on income from it. So instead of getting to go on a cruise, I get to start another business... a much better use of my time anyway. Feel free to support me by sharing my links with anyone you know.

    Soooo...

    Thursday - Ft. Lauderdale
Walked down the beach until we found the perfect little tiki hut serving breakfast. Best part: apparently it was happy hour (the sign said 7am - 10am!!!)

Board, a little "Welcome Aboard!" libation (or 3), comedy show, nap, dinner, salsa lessons, and a little Texas Hold'em (you woulda killed, Bill!)

    Friday - Key West
Sail a catamaran out to the 3rd largest coral reef in the world, snorkel, race dolphins back to shore, shop around in Margaritaville, then the whole group ate a piece of Key lime pie, in honor of Yves. Nap. Formal dinner, show, etc, etc.

    Saturday - Cozumel
Rent scooter... then find out that Bobo has never driven a motorcycle (after we almost took out a horse and buggy). Shop (apparently the latest mode of advertising is a free tequila shot - in EVERY DARNED STORE), snorkel on 3 different reefs. Largest school of fish I've ever seen in my 20+ years of diving. Amazing! Nap. Dancing under the stars.

    Sunday - Day at Sea
Rum Drinks (and that was just breakfast), poolside, International belly-flop contest, volleyball tournament, more rum drinks (lunch), read book, spa treatment, nap, 70s party, dinner with lovely new friends who think our friends who bailed on us are lame. Just sayin what they said. Karaoke, take over the piano bar. (Turns out I remember how to play the piano better than I thot... or at least it seemed like it by that time of the evening!) Bobo, the piano player, Nate, and the adorable Asst Cruise director, Ebel, close down the ship's nightclub while I crash.

LOL... some fit for publication, others not so much. A few posted by some new friends already on my facebook MJ.

...Y'all missed some good fun. Some things Jill did not mention....

    1. How Bobo wound up without pants during a game show, thank God he remembered underwear that night.
    2. Bobo crashing the stage after a gentleman kariokied "All the Single Ladies"... you guessed it, told him "I'm gonna let you finish.... but Beyonce sang that song better than you man"
    3. The guy who pretended to be gay one night because a gay friend was getting permission to grope a very drunk redhead... then the next day while the guy was hitting on a different girl Jill walked up and asked him when he knew he was gay and what it was like to come out. Wish I took that picture!
    4. How the world changes when a guy puts on a tee shirt that looks like a hot woman in a bikini (thong no less). Prior to that the Cozumelians tried to sell me jewelry and watches, after that they tried to sell me pot and ludes.

It gets better... y'all are coming to the next one or Bobo is kidnapping you and throwing you in the steamer trunk. I'm persuasive.

I won't bore you with the nearly 300 pix we took... (and if you're a FB friend, you can see more there)

But I'll toss up just a handful to give ya a little taste. It truly is, IMO, just about the best VALUE you can get in a vacation. Wish y'all had been there, but as you can see, that didn't stop us from having a silly fun time:

U.S. Coast Guard escorting us out to sea

Sunset over Miami - First evening

Bobo in Key West, before boarding the catamaran to go snorkeling

One of the towel "sculptures" that our cabin steward left in our stateroom each night.

A little food-as-art on one of many buffets.

Bobo serving up a (near) victory in the Passenger vs. Officers Vball game.

Our new friends - the lovely dinner companions who tried to fill in for our Fastlane friends.

Jill and Bobo, late the last evening. That's all I'm saying.

We took over the piano bar for a little bonus entertainment (and we pray that there were no video cameras in the room!)
