It's just sad really. I wonder what made this girl so angry to the point that she is throwing her life away? I just wanna go take her out to lunch and see what makes her tick--her mom would probably have more success getting into her daughter's head and changing her behavior by doing just that a couple of times a week. ...I guess I just have a soft spot for kids like this.

not suprising. We had a 7th grader pregnant 2 years ago in our school. She is now pregnant with her 2nd child in 9th grade. As teachers we joked about her being a senior and dropping her kid off for kindergarten. It's really sad.....

This year we have a 8th grade cheerleader and another 8th grade girl pregnant. we average 2-3 a year that get pregnant just in our middle school. They get sexually active younger and younger. I know many of my 7th and 8th graders are already sexually active, yet we can't give out condoms at school or even install a condom machine in the bathrooms because that might encourage them to have sex. instead we allow the girls that are pregnant to attend regular classes until they have the kid. We even had girls bringing their ultra sound to school to show the other girls.

I try when I can to explain how stupid it is at this age but who knows if they really listen. Talk about screwing up your life.
