Default I still don't know where to start

Just like the title I still do not know where to start. I have a bunch of ideas (ideas that solve problems found - via forums, yahoo answers, Google search, etc.) , and like the "Fastlane" book says: Ideas are worthless without execution.

But I am not really sure if they are even good or not, or if they will affect enough people. Plus I am not sure as of where to get started with them.

    Any suggestions?

How do you know if an idea is good or bad?
Sure if they solve a need it could be a good idea, but I don't want to base my entire decision off of that.

All of my ideas are online problem solvers

So, how do you execute your "problem solvers"?

How do you determine that your "problem solver" is the right problem to solve?

I have hosting, I know how to buy domains, I can do wordpress, but some may require some deep programming, which I hate, so what should I do from my standing point?

I have said this in a previous post but left out some details out. Yes I know basic programming, I actually have built a few small programs that really don't do much but I the fact is I know whats going on.

I think you and I are in the same boat. I will echo your plea for help on this. With me, I have a great idea that I believe has a good chance of getting off the ground, but I dont know where to start on designing this business. The millionaire fastlane was a great book, but unfortunately, did not dive into the "execution" part clearly enough for me (I'm not dissing your book MJ....I loved it and have told many people about it). Do I need to read some more books? Should I be trying to network with other professionals? Is it safe to discuss my great idea with other people? I'm just an I.T. guy with a lot of ambition, but I dont know anything about designing websites, promoting websites, marketing, planning, or strategising.

    Default one small suggestion

I am new here, but my suggestion is to pick something and just start, after you've followed some of the analysis advice in the fastlane book. Don't expect the first thing you try to be THE thing. I would go thru the process, of getting a domain, website going and doing something small at first, so that you get some practice. Then once you start getting familiar with the process and everything that's involved, other better ideas may come to the surface, or you might amend your idea. If you have a better domain idea after a few months you can always point the new one at the original one with a masked link and no one will notice; or pick the whole thing up and move it, or make a tinyURL. I have built several websites that didn't go anywhere, partners changed their minds etc; changed product lines, etc. but I learned from each of them. At this point you need experience doing, and everybody has to start somewhere.

Exactly how I feel! Whoever reads this and decides to answer all questions I would like you to answer "biggeemac" questions as well if possible.

Just start one. Take that first step. Granted, you could fail and the idea could be a dud. But even if you fail, you'd be no worse then if you hadn't done anything.

It'd actually be good too (if your idea was a flop), because then you can rule out one of your ideas and have one less to consider! haha

I posted a topic under general business asking "what does execution look like". Hopefully we can get some buzz going on just this piece.

Yes I think we all need more doing. But not sure what to do. Should I hire someone to build the sites? Should I learn programming to the fullest, which could take 2 years, and then build my business?

The way I feel about programming is they way I feel about building a business traditionally with bricks, concrete, drywall, and glass. ----- You know how you want your office to look, you know what you want your office for, and you know how you want all the switches and guts on the inside to work. BUT... You do not build the building, you hire people. If a light goes out, you do not mind changing a bulb yourself. Same with a website, I would like to hire someone, and do the occasional changing of bulbs, but no complete renovations myself and I do not want to build it. I looked on elance, and other sites and actually offered a pretty reasonable rate I thought. But EVERY EMAIL I got was scammy / spammy looking.

I press the power button on my brain and every time I do, I blow a fuse and just get stuck. I have no clue what is holding me back. I have great problem solvers, and just do not know how I can execute them. - Hey I may have found a niche right there for anyone who wants to take that idea. ebook on how to execute your ideas - your welcome! I probably wont write that one anytime too soon.

Simple. Get a customer. Without a customer, it's just a hobby.

    James Altucher:

"People say, 'Execution is important'. That's not really true either. Execution is useless. It's a commodity. The only thing that's important is money. You get money by having a customer. You get a customer by satisfying a need that's so important to them they would be willing to pay for it. If you have a customer that's willing to pay you money, then execution becomes a lot easier. Life as an entrepreneur is hard. Why make it harder for yourself?"
Easiest Way to Succeed as an Entrepreneur

    Derek Sivers:

"The book follows the often-gripping story of how Sivers founded CDBaby.com in 1998 with $500, grew it to with no outside investors ever, lead the company through hypergrowth, and sold it for $22 million in 2008 when it had grown too large for his leadership tastes."

"This has made me a really annoying 'guru.' Everyone comes up to me and says, 'Hey, you've had this success. What do you think of my idea?' Everyone wants to tell me their startup idea. For almost everything, I just say, 'Well. are people into it? Are customers wanting to pay you?' That's all there is to it."
