80k worth of mistakes in 2011

I recently hired a person to handle marketing and sales in my small business (8 employees) I goofed and did not supervise as closely as I should have, and lost about 50k in lost clients (and untold amount in reputation) due to un-followed up leads.

I also lost 30k in the wrong purchase of equipment, even after visiting a supplier in China, the quality was unusable for my business because we only want to be "top end" in our market... my fault again, I shall only buy the best, but in smaller quantities in the future if cash flow does not allow the full purchase.
