    Default Adwords

I recently acquired an outsourcing business and have started advertising.
I have been using adwords, and I do get a lot of incoming traffic, but it is not converting.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to make the most of adwords?
    Or does adwords actually work?

approx how many viewers are you getting per week or month?

Also do you have a landing page or something?

In your ad you must create:

Scarcity- Limited amount of product left (so you could say all of your employees will be booked by the end of this month....)

Urgency- We MUST get your inquiry by thursday...

Get a copywriter to help you create something new.

Now obviously your traffic has some concerns about your product may be trust, maybe they think it wont work.

Call up 20 random people that would be your target market, ask them to do a quick survey, send them to the site, then call them back and ask what were your concerns etc.

Make sure that in your new ad page you address their issues.

Advertising is real tough to make work if the customer does not feel 100% comfortable.

So, for example you could say" if for some reason you do not feel our employees helped you with all your outsourcing needs we will give you a DOUBLE money back guarantee", make sure you set all your clauses up properly so scammers don't get you.

Every industry has its own calling threshold, some people are in HEAT for your product and they respond easily, some industries especially competitive, overly saturated markets are tougher so it is a MUST to offer promotional things and have a strong back end sales strategy, upselling etc. Sometimes you will lose money to gain a customer through your first job with them so you must eventually upsell somehow otherwise it simply may not work.

Find out what it hurting your target market, what frustrates them, then promise a solution in your copy.

One of the best marketers i personally have met who made millions selling pills told me "marketing is like picking up a girl, you don't just go and put an ad up saying buy these pills for $120, you say try our 30 day risk free money back guarentee pills in 4 easy payments of $29.99"

Just as you wouldn't go up to a bar and tell a woman, hey your hot come home with me. Sales can not be direct it must be indirectly sold, it is an art and must have some sales funnel built with a great back end sales strategy. Read some books from gurus in marketing online and offline. good luck.

    hello worryfreeOS -

I dont mean to take anything away from the above response, but if you target the right key words you dont need to worry so much about clever ad copy. You do want to have something decent on the other side of your ad though.

Adwords does work but like any marketing tool you have to use it properly.

Without knowing what you are selling I will spin an example that might help you narrow your search terms so you can get more targeted traffic.

Let's say you are selling something on my desk like, say, a Bic Pilot G-2 Medium Point Blue Gel Ink Pen.

Before you create your Adwords campaign make sure you know what result you want from the campaign.

Adwords will always have "suggested" keywords which will mean more clicks which in turn means MORE MONEY for Adwords. It probably won't mean more money for you.

You want to develop a highly targeted keyword phrase with limited competition, which will in turn not only give you a high CTR (click through rate) on your ad, but a lower cost per ad, and a higher conversion rate to your ad response.

For instance, these are the different "results" Google finds for the following search terms

    ink pen: 76,400,000
    blue ink pen: 3,420,000
    bic pen: 950,000

blue pilot g 2 medium point gel ink pens: 86,600
buy blue pilot g 2 medium point gel ink pen now: 53,400
buy blue pilot g 2 medium point gel ink pen free shipping: 44,200

Google will always push you towards the first group of search terms.

Where do you think your ad budget is going to have the most impact?

    Have fun, and good luck!

Yes Adwords works if you test. If you throw up an ad and send it to a page and never know what traffic converts, your chances of it paying for itself are very low.

The 80/20 rule is alive and well in adwords. Google can give you hundreds, if not thousands of words they think are relevant. Relevant is crap, the only thing that matters is conversion. Reality is for just about any business, you will find one, maybe two words that will convert more than the next 10 combined and those top ten will convert more than the next 100 combined.

Also if you don't have negative keywords (words you never want your ad to show when searched can save you tons).

Checkout SpyFu and study your competition. See what words they bid on, how long they've been bidding on that word and what ad copy they use.

Also you need to eliminate people that don't buy at the ad level, that means always testing at least two ads.

Bottom line test everything at every level of adwords.
I hope my post or replies are helpful. Thanks in advance for Thanks and + Speed Reps!
