Sounds great - winter / early spring is probably the best time to do it so everyone can enjoy the nice weather. February-ish / early March are great times of year.

Along the same lines, I have wanted to have a get get together/hang for those on the east coast, specifically the northeastern part part of the USA. I am currently in central NJ, an hour from NY, and an hour from philly. I know that Chris Piranha is from NJ/NY, and I believe there are also a couple others in the area.

....As a "Rank Newbie" (from SoCA) I'd be willing to endeavour to attend in PHX if newbies are included.

....I agree...early to mid Feb to early March is usually an excellent time in the desert!!!

As an FYI...might consider that '08 March Madness is in March too (go figure "March Madness" is held in "March")...and the better hotels/resorts will often get booked with party groups, etc. during the tourney.

Also, if not PHX, and you want to keep it in the SW...as an alternative, consider Vegas as well...if for no other reason than most every city has a multitude of flight choices to LAS.

I vote for Phoenix, as I think we could all get in way too much trouble together in Vegas. MJ- do you know of a good meeting place- maybe a hotel? What did you guys do for the RD meetup last year? What worked, and what didn't work? What would you guys want to see different this time?

Jesse, you can't afford to miss this one. I suggest you rephrase that as "I will figure it out and will find a way to afford that trip". Positive thinking is a must.

As long as it is a weekend and I am not fighting the forces of evil, I am in. PHX is just a Jeep ride away from me here in Southern AZ.

I'll also be in Scottsdale for a meeting the weekend of Oct. 6th.

Hey, do what I do, Lance-- enjoy wines from all over the world-- I can't wait to try out something new, or find an old fave.

Current fave: Bennet Lane White Feasting Wine . . . about $18 a bottle, for . . .ahem . . . those of us "in the industry".

Less than 20€ for all you pikers.

And you all wondered why I wanted to run a B&B . . . spend a few million, and you, too, can save a few bucks on wine.

Great idea about doing presentations. I would love to hear what others have cookin'. I hope to have a great story to share. I am SO excited for this- it probably isn't healthy.
