Can you call your SAAB dealer and ask them? ...And then if it's an answer you like, go down there and get it in writing from the manager.

So my lease on my 2006 Saab is up on 3/31/09. I was in an accident a couple of months ago and I have some damage to my front bumper.I've been given 2 quotes for fixing the bumper, both around $1,500 with parts and labor.
My boss told me just to return the car "as-is" and have Saab fix it themselves. Obviously, they wil charge me for this. My boss says they will just sub out the work to a local auto body and charge me probably the same amount as the quotes I've been given.
My concern is that I turn in the car and they say, "This will cost $4,000 to fix and we need a check from you." Once I turn the car in, I kind of lose any rights I had, no?
Does anyone here have any experience with this type of situation - turning in a leased-car with some damage to it?
Thanks,

I think every dealership is different but I had some bumpter damage on my leased car and the dealership charged me less than want a repair shop would charge. I did have a chance to go and have the work done at another place if I wanted since I checked in with the dealership a few weeks before my lease was due.
Why pay for it out of pocket? Have your insurance fix it, thats what you have it for.
One of my uncles plays the lease game with a bunch of BMW's, and always goes over the mileage, sometimes by a lot! BMW like all companies plays games and forgives stuff if you re lease. So if you lease again they probably will forgive a lot.
We were busting his balls real bad once, when he was late for work, because his rented Z4 got a hole put in the bumper from some bimbo in a parking lot and he was freaking out.![]()
