Virtual reality porn?

Hey guys,

I am currently running a company dealing with various 3D stuff - 3D printing, 3D scanning, 3D modelling etc. We built a full body 3D scanner that produces 3D models with amazing texture quality. We planned to use the scanner mainly for a new "mini-me" service (check www.dollyme3d.com/en/), but as the launch didn't go as planned, we started to think of other ideas to make up the money invested into the scanner. I think there are about 10-15 studios in the world, who can produce 3D models with similar quality.

So I was reading about Oculus Rift and Virtual Reality stuff and came up with an idea... Virtual Reality porn!

We could provide people with 3D models/environment with naked chicks and stuff. :D The chicks wouldn't move, dance or talk, but they would be naked, erotic and veeery real. You could walk around her, look at her at close distance and basically feel her in every way.

The Virtual Reality market is small, but it's going to grow fast in the next 2-5 years.

The quality of the models would be close to this:

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think there would be a market for this? Would you pay for it? :)

If you have some ideas/expertise and you would like to participate in this project, send me a PM.

Found this! Currently in development.

O well.

Many people think that it's f**ked up, although they might buy it. Who knows.

For every person complaining about how this is "screwing up society" there will be 10 silent buyers.
Of course there's a market for this, ESPECIALLY when things get down to an affordable level.

Right now the cost of the hardware is too expensive, the first hardware that comes to consumer pricepoint will be the standard VR system.

Creating the software now, building the content and bases and UI now, being adaptable and ready to hop on-board whatever the most popular VR system is will be a long-term win worth millions.

I would think any domain with the name Oculus or Rift would be ripe for a trademark infringement claim...

Yeah, the rift itself is not very expensive (300 USD), but the problem is, there is no Customer Version of it... and no date for the release either. There are about 150k Oculus Rifts out there right now and they expect to sell at least a million with the first CV (probably much more tho). Virtual Reality is going into the masses in 4-5 years, not sooner.

About the domain - I don't know much about trademark infringement (with domains), so I can't comment on this.

This is one of those times when I feel bad that everyone doesn't live in Thailand..

I've always had this idea were we would make computer animation films, and we could input various angles to enhance the story and the viewers experience. Like if pixar were to add vr . I'm sure there writers and directors could really make magic and make you feel even more connected to their films.

Honestly I think the idea is brilliant. There's one thing that will ALWAYS sell and this thing is called SEX. It will probably not become profitable in the short term but if you manage to put up something really solid with a large pool of beta tester userbase you could probably sell everything to some big name in the porn industry before the whole thing becomes mainstream.

You should probably try to partner with someone who's able to address this issue: "The chicks wouldn't move, dance or talk, but ..". I'm pretty sure this shouldn't be a hard thing to do at all and I can already see 100 possible applications with this

This is for sure going to be such a disruptive technology with so many opportunities, the augmented & virtual reality market is going to be massive. The thing is it is still really early but the technology is progressing really fast VR and sensor technology really link well.

I remember reading about the possible long term effects that Oculus Rift could have on your brain when used excessively.

If true, Virtual Porn + Long Term Effects With Oculus Rift When Used Excessively = :walkingdead:

But I guess TV isnt that much different

Clothes shopping is going to be one industry that this space will revolutionise especially with 3d body scanners becoming pretty commonplace and cheeper i.e Upload your body scan and you could see how clothing looks on you virtually before buying! pretty sweet

Thanks guys! I will update you on the progress.

About clothes.. it's pretty difficult to show how clothes will look on you digitally. There is an Estonian startup fits.me, who produces physical robots for similar use. You could use full body 3D scans to take measurements and compare them to the potential products measurements. I think many online clothing shops would be very interested a service like that (less returns)..

There is a bunch of companies working on augmented reality virtual fitting rooms some are really getting towards a amazing product. I see a good opportunity also in body scanners with share revenue or lease models as I believe they will end up being just as common as photo machines.

Yeap for sure, but it will take time. You can basically make a full body scan with an Xbox Kinect right now, but the quality isn't there yet. For virtual fitting rooms you don't really need texture tho, just a basic laser or white light scanner will do. But as we talk about texture... there is a reason we bought more than 50 Canon dslr cameras for the scanner. :)

I'm sure in 3-5 years you can scan your body with your Iphone 9, too. Photogrammetry will be "the shit" in consumer 3D scanning for sure.

F*ck her right in the PUSSAY!

Congratulations. You just earned yourself a week vacation from the board.

Some of the mods are talking about age restricting the forum. Too much adolescence. Too much immaturity. And this is why. And people wonder why there aren't more professional, accomplished women here. Really? They read this shit and they leave. Meanwhile this is the crap I wakeup in the morning to read. Frankly, I don't care if you don't come back.

@16yearoldboy,

Please behave here on this forum. This is not just a random forum, it's a place where professional people are giving all the can to move forward in business. Not a place at all for sexual or other childish remarks.

Besides, you giving our country a bad reputation! And that bothers me a lot personally.
