Update time! I am happy to say that my income from my books has surpassed that of my former full time job! :) Also, a group of book bloggers is doing an entire month 'author showcase' on one of my pen names! :)

Geared to have two more books published this week!

Another job bites the dust! Woohoo! How does your husband feel about your writing now?

Your progress is downright breathtaking! How long are these books, anyway? I'm feeling snail-like. :arghh:

He's starting telling people that I'm an author. :) Granted, he tells them that I write porn, but he goes on to tell them books by big authors that my books are out ranking. lol

I'm doing series, so each 'book' is about 10-12k words until the end of the series, then I publish a novel that includes all the parts of the series. Right now, that means I have nine 10-12k word books and 1 novel. I like doing series because it's a good litmus paper by which to gauge reader interest. If the first part of the series takes off, I know they'll read the next one. If not, then I move on. :)

So, don't feel like a snail! I'm only doing 10-20k words a week! You blow my count out of the water! :bookworm:

Congrats on your success! I read your Thicker Than Blood book and really enjoyed it. You have a great writing style and your story was truly engaging. Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much! Made my day! :)

It's no problem! The funny thing is, I had never read an Erotica and neither had my wife but after going through this thread I decided to check yours out. I'm glad I did because it showed me a different way of writing that I had never explored before. Your book broke my Erotica cherry so to speak (no pun intended).

I really was interested in the characters and could picture the events that you had written. Very inspiring!

This thread is proof that hard work and determination will really pay off in the end.

Ha ha ha! Which one did you read? Thicker than Blood, the whole series or the compilation novel, Fallen Hard?

I really appreciate your comments! I'd started it as a grown-up version of Twilight... but it morphed within the first couple thousand words. lol Dr. Amante didn't want to sparkle, I guess. :)

So far I've only read the first one, Thicker than Blood, but I fully intend on buying the rest just to see how the story ends. I was really caught up in the first one, enough to make me want to read the rest, which is a good thing. You see, I get distracted really easy when something doesn't grab my attention but your book really hooked me in. Really got me going (not in a perverted way of course ;)).

It did strike me as a grown-up Twilight type of book but with more "zing". I'll read the rest of your books to see how the story progresses but I must say, the first one was great. Just my opinion of course.:)

Awesome Rainy! Still, I think hubby should suffer a bit for his transgressions...

Mull his fate over while you check your remittances. :cigar:

Publishing my 2nd part of the vampire story today. I am constantly amazed at how stubborn my characters are. I'll have a nice story line all set up and they'll decide that what I had planned wasn't something they would do. Bastards. :)

Anyway, three of my books are ranking in at least one of their genre's top 100, so I'm pretty happy.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Update for March:

Well, the husband can roll up his statement about making more at McDonald's than as a writer and smoke it. :) For the month of March, my profit from my writings surpassed the monthly income I was making as a graphic designer! :cigar:

I have a couple more books to come out in the next week, so I'm super excited about April!
