I launched a supplement brand on Amazon a couple of months ago and have started to see people ordering their second bottle. I am wondering if I should send them an email thanking them for their second purchase and asking politely if they would mind posting a brief review of the supplement. I figure if they are ordering a second time they must find it helpful. Has anyone tried this and been successful? I am trying to decide what is the best message to send. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hm... good question. I don't think there's one that filters out second orders from customers. I used FeedbackFive and haven't seen the feature (or searched for it at least); there are a couple others out there though.

I just manually look at each completed order on sellercentral. It shows whether or not they have ordered before.

Perhaps I don't think like the average customer, but I dislike receiving emails reminding me to post a review or give feedback. If I have a strong opinion toward a particular product, I'll post the review without needing a reminder.

If you really want to send them a message, do it only once per customer, otherwise you risk being annoying.

Most customers wont leave a review unless they're really annoyed. Even the top apps, they have MILLIONS of downloads, and a low amount of reviews. There are people who like to review (rare) but, most people are like me and just don't care.

I receive an email requesting a review from almost every third party seller on Amazon UK that I purchase from. I only review when I love the product, which is independent from whether I receive an email request or not.

Sounds about right - Here is a 'fix' worth trying for amazon sellers. @biophase

Instead of following up asking for customer reviews, send a personal email and ask if they have any questions or need any help? Then follow up after that conversation is done with asking for a customer review. Build a relationship first.

I have a very different looking email. I get the same emails all the time, so I just made mine totally different, but I can't say how on a public forum. I don't know if it works better or worse because I didn't test it. I can say that the emails themselves do get reviews because my product reviews are increasing.

Since everyone sends out emails, you sending one out from your company will just be standard procedure to your customer.
