Hi, recently I've been looking into importing goods into New Zealand from external countries, the mark-up is incredible over here.

I've been browsing the Alibaba website and it seems straight forward enough.

I'm thinking about targeting cell phone and laptop components etc, as both I and my friend can repair cell phones and laptops, upgrade, etc. Also, they're cheap.

Now the questions.

Where to sell?

So far I have...

* Trading websites (TradeMe,Facebook, etc)
* Markets
* Create a website

Importing.

* Alibaba
* Made in china

Mark-up

* Heard rumors of people undercutting other companies and getting flagged from certain websites e.g TradeMe.

Importing duties?

* What is this?

Constructive criticism is appreciated and ALL comments are muchly appreciated. Thanks!

Kind regards,
Luke

If you want to learn about selling your products, in particular on eBay, check out this thread:

If you want to learn about how to safely source your chosen products and how to import them, check out this one:

EDIT. I tried twice to make the link to Ecom Man's AMA a live one, but failed. Sorry I am not a tech wizard.
