Hi, new to the forums here. I recently read MJ's book and was inspired to say the least. I have had an idea for several years and i finally am ready to get it out there. Just some general info about it. Its a product design, has no moving parts, and is super simple. Ive already made several prototypes and the feedback from it is great. The idea is simply to to lease/sell the idea and collect. Now im new to this and dont have any experience with inventing, so i thought id ask all you who might. What exactly do i need to present an idea and try to make a deal. Do i need a full fledged patent? or just a provisional patent and a non disclosure form? Is there anything else i need paperwork wise? Any feedback would be much aprecciated :)

Inventright.com should be enough to teach you foundational basics. Much of the value is in the video content between the founders and with their students. Also, do a search around here on provisional patents. It's been discussed in detail.
