"Well, first thing’s first. You wouldn’t want to take advice from somebody who didn’t do it before. I think I’ve got the basics of making money in business down to a “Tâ€. Especially with online ventures because I’ve built and sold businesses before I was 20. Recently, I’ve built and sold a site for 50,000 euros cash, upfront and with no contract after 9 months of work on it. I’m now almost 23. I’ve been involved in business creation since I was about 16. I’d like to give my 2 cents on these noble topics. I’ll start by mixing a few general tips with a few personal experience stories and end with a clear roadmap of what we did in the beginning and how you should start. So, let’s get going."

Don't take this the wrong way. But there is no way on earth I would ever give an interview to a journalist because I made 50k in 9 months time. Hell, cleaning sewers and investing that money in the meantime could get you 50k in 9 months. I dislike the arrogance in general in that article.

I agree, seems like the author was more interested in the fame(ie being able to get the word out there about himself), than financial success.

    I suppose it's a matter of perspective.

Where I'm at, I would love to make 50k from an entrepreneurial venture in 9 months.

Truth is, he doesn't do it for the money, he does it because it's fun.

I can tell. Yeah, he's bragging about the money (not an impressive sum for working nonstop) but it's an interesting case study to pick the minds of the so-called 'new age' of serial entrepreneurs.

A real Fastlaner would buy his $50,000 company and turn it into a $5 million one.

Personally I think that it's impressive and is a significant indicator of more success to come for this young guy. I remember what I was doing when I was 22 and what this entrepreneur has done is pretty cool.

He's bragging because $50k is a big deal to him. One day $500k will be a big deal, and then $5m will be a big deal, and so on and so forth. He might stop bragging when he gets older or he may not. But that really wasn't the point of my posting the article.

I agree. There more to the story than some kid bragging about his success.

It's better than raising a white flag, and quit.
but I think it's more of a forum brag than get an article brag.
but if I did it like he did, I would brag, I admit.

Whoa, no disrespect! It's amazing an certainly extraordinary what he did. I'm just saying, me and others have done the same in a smaller timeframe yet the people I know dont talk with journalists about it.. Imho that's too soon to come out with numbers and articles, I'm just saying it CAN come off as bragging and may leave a wrong impression with people, eliminating future business opportunities. OR, it could play out in his favor. Either way, I'm simply stating it's nothing I would have done. Kudos to him though!

I remember when I made my first $50k investing. I then wondered how difficult it was to get into a magazine. I threw some emails out and was one of a few investors featured in a national Canadian magazine. That was pretty cool. I was older though. Like 27.

    WHAT?????

You should be talking to journalists about this.

    You, specially you.

You would grow exponentially with this kind of advertisement, don't you think?

Andviv, I was in nightlife, the last thing I would want right now is coverage. They could cover CONSUCOM, but me, I'd rather stay on the background. I found that it sheds more negative aspects than positive...

Interesting perspective. Here in the US promoters and others in similar businesses gain a lot by having that exposure. "This is the 21 year old who runs the successful disco XYZ" type of articles give you a lot of cred and should help bring more business.

Maybe I've been out of the party lifestyle for too long.

    Yes, he's bragging.

Yes, at the end of his article he sounds like he knows it all.

    So what?

This guy had the same struggle as anyone trying to become successful, or at least a little bit successful.

If he can take his biz much more further, even better.

If his ego gets in his way it's only a question if he realizes it and gets up again and keeps fighting.

The most important point is: He's a role model for people like us, for younger people, for indians etc.

    That's what counts.

I wish there will be another article telling us about him taking his biz to multi-millions.

TK1, I second that! Would truely put a smile on my face!

Andviv, true, but we're humans! I like to get shitfaced from time to time and do horrible, embarassing stuff as a result, haha. If a person links his business with his face, both positive and negative results will ensue. For example Steve Jobs and Apple, how much people lost faith in Apple after his death?

I know for a fact my ego at age 22 was probably twice as big as this guy's, and I did not make $50K in that short amount of time. Maybe that explains why I respect this type of stuff.

Also, we seem to quickly disregard or downplay our successes.

I was talking to a friend the other day, just chatting about the things I had done in life. He though they were amazing and I should write a book or a movie script. Funny, I feel like I have not accomplished anything, but for others these 'little things' in my eyes were big deal for others.

I think it would be better if we all celebrate other's successes and encourage more people to reach or pass that level.

Agreed... swings at the plate = more hits.

If you add a few zeroes to the headline, I feel the advice would still hold solid. Would you hold it in any less regard if it said "From 5,000 Euros to 50,000,000 in 9 years"?

    Hi
    I'm Victor from VictorStuff.com.
Came across this forum while googleing for this guest post's backlinks so I thought I'd post my response.

    Bragging:

Writing a balanced article is an art, indeed. Writing something from which every reader can derive value is, I think, reserved for the likes of Confucius or Krishnamurti. So obviously, looking back (I wrote this about 4 months ago), I see a lot of errors in my presentation. One of them is the overall cocky atitude one might find in this article.

I surely didn't do this on purpose. In fact, I had a long talk with one of my associates about even posting this up on the net. The first draft was less factual, and more inspirational. Then I thought people would appreciate something more to the point, more "personal experience". I for one love reading about numbers, facts, income reports (especially from SmartPassiveIncome) and anything "real" and "hands-on" from other entrepreneurs. That's all I tried to do with this.
    Uplift, inspire.

    The 50,000E issue:

By no means am I trying to say that 50k is a large sum. Trust me, it's not. What I'm trying to say is that an ROI of 100x on 500 euros is something achievable in 9 months (in my case, I'm sure it can be done in 2 months or less). And that sort of ROI is something worth talking about. That's it. It's not about the actual sum, as one person very wisely said here already.
Also, I'm pointing out only the investment vs sell price ROI, while ignoring completely the profit in between.
I thought that that's also worth mentioning.

    The Ego Too Big Thing:

If Kanye West has one, I should too. I got a big ego.

    Conclusion:

Thank you for all of your reactions, it's a great learning experience for me. All things considered, I think that this will be the only post I make about selling one of my businesses.

Hi victor. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here.

What would you do differently this time when starting a new business?

Do you see yourself mostly creating and selling businesses, or are you looking forward to operate a bigger business for a long period of time?

    Looking forward to your answers.

    Victor,

Visible success is an area that attracts "haters" -- don't let a few folks spoil your desire to share what you've learned, assuming of course, you enjoy that.

If one accomplishes results outside of the norm, I'd hope they'd share it and not be fearful of what others might say.

    Welcome to the forum. :)

    @andviv

Thank you for your feedback. Not to sound arrogant, but I wouldn't do anything differently in any business which I've started. I think I've learned tons from my countless mistakes and I wouldn't have wanted to prepare and anticpate those mistakes, because then I wouldn't have had the gift of failure engrained forever in me. And that (the gift of failure) is super useful I think. It keeps me weary, keeps me close to those damn numbers and those grumpy accountants who are so important. Close to so many areas which are a bit unnatractive (we always talk about entrepreneurship without even mentioning these parts), but crucial for success.

My end goal is to have a very large organisation. It's not about the money (although my long term associate with whom I've been friends since the second grade would argue otherwise).
It's about adding value to other people's lives and the "ego" wanting to lead as many people as possible. It's an awesome accomplishment, having families lives depend on your work, and the materialisation of your ideas. For me personally, that's the biggest thing an individual can do.
So I want a big organisation with many other passive streams of income, but I want to spend my time managing and leading people. It's the greatest joy.

    @MJ DeMarco

Thank you for your support! I really enjoy writing and trying to help. Hopefully I'll be able to add some value.

PS sorry for any possible grammar issues (I try to use google grammar checker as much as possible), english is my second language

Thanks guys. Just one question, I see that many people are starting threads with articles from the net here. I'd be interested to also do that with some articles of mine, get some feedback again and whatnot. I admit I haven't had the time to read the guidelines. Is that considered self-promotion?

Victor, please do so! I and others would love to pick your brain!

And sure, it's self promotion, but the entire world is a propaganda machine, everybody is selling something. If you don't sell yourself, what is there to sell?
