Seriously

Another thing that I notice is that Eben talks about a lot of advance concepts
that will fly over anyone's head if they haven't had any business success

yes, and by the way, we can have a taste of his knowledge on his website for free :

Eben is following his own teaching and giving away good advices :

http://getaltitude.com/blog/

I think my favorites " gurus" are : MJ DeMarco , Jay Abraham and Eben Pagan

what they teach in a few words in my opinion :

MJ : "don't be a slave, be free, wake up , this is your only life"

Jay : " optimize everything in your business and in your life "

Eben: " do watever it takes . always seek the next level "

His self made wealth course is pretty good too

A couple golden nuggets I got out of that course was:

"The more things you own, the more time consuming they are"
"Get use to building value everyday, treat it like something you
just do"
"Before your next purchase ask yourself, is this a need or a want?"
"Give away your best stuff...since you can always come up with new
great ideas when you're use to building value"

Answer this question: WTF does Tai Lopez do?

And please, don't start a dumb thread to discuss the topic.

True, good analogies and insight

Eben is a true fastlaner and his doubleyourdating business made him super rich in a few years. At 44, he could spent the rest of his life on the beach if he wanted to.

But entrepreneurship is his life and i think he will never retire.

That's the difference between him and people like me ( or you)

Because i want to be free now and spent the rest of my life in the moutains enjoying nature.

i want to wake up and say " the day is mine, my time is mine, my life is mine "

so i am studying kindle publishing to begin with entrepreneurship

If i could win the lottery, i would never spend another day studying marketing. Ever.

It seems to me that business is a mean to an end, not the goal of life , so i can't really understand Eben's choice.

That's my point . i dont' want to be super rich. I want to be free. Freedom is above wealth in my priorities.

By the way, do you have a vision for your life ? a reason why ?

Eben talks about an exercice called " your ultimate scenario "

So we have to think about what we want and say it out loud AS IF it has already happened in our life. so it motivates us to act.

for example , my ultimate scénario is

" Today is september the 5th of 2026. It is 7 A.M.

I can see the beautiful sunrise above the mountains through the window.

I am proud of the beautiful lodge we live in , my wife and i. She is still sleeping.

We are free, i think about my net worth of 2 millions dollars and the cashflow i enjoy from it.

This is a wonderful feeling after a life of adversity

i have been waiting for this moment for all my life "

that's my reason why

Yes, Freedom on all levels has always been my priority also

I envision freedom with wealth, a passive means
I have been saying it out loud and desire to interact with others that are in route of creating their dreams or have already attained it.

Are you in a mastermind group ?

it seems , this is very important to rely on others people knowledge and assets.

Eben created a programm called " guru mastermind " where people interact with each other

Tai talks about that even if you achieve the "4 hour work week" you wouldn't be happy
since most of your happiness will come from production (work) & social interactions

But i am not like everyone else.

I am kind of a hermit in the forest. i hate large socials interactions.

Business is a means to an end because i can't do otherwise, like winning the lottery. So i play this game of life.

But you have to decide what you want, no what society wants you to do.

Society wants us to be like everyone else. i want to be myself

I love the idea of progressing from employee to self-employed to business owner (entrepreneur). I can see where I have made mistakes and failed in my journey over the last ten years. The process is so important and skipping it is dangerous as I have discovered.

I just recently joined one, we're using Think and Grow Rich principles.
Yes, that is key to longevity.
Thanks, I will check out guru mastermind.

so , what are your insights about these 10 years period ?

As I was watching the video and thinking about it, I realized that I fell into the trap of trying to be an entrepreneur when I was self-employed and not yet ready to advance to the next level.

I didn't yet have the experience or leadership skills required of an entrepreneur even though I was a gifted at being self-employed.

I was trying to rush the process and instead of seeing it as a journey I saw it as a destination. So, I started hiring before I was ready, I started jumping ahead to building the business before either it or I was ready and I tried convincing myself that I was ready for something that at the time I clearly was not.

Several years later, I'm more seasoned, ready and prepared thanks to those failures and experiences. As Eben said in the video, each stage prepares you for the next one and there are no shortcuts.

Thanks for the follow-up and I hope I answered your question?

yes thank you . but anyway, you have made the right choice : taking action. that's better than sitting down and doing nothing.

i think there are no failures in life, only feedback if we reframe things.

i like Dr Maltz's work about this idea

"When people succeed they tend to party but when they fail they tend to ponder." - Tony Robbins

I am a proscratinor and taking action is already a victory for me. So i party when i get out of bed every morning...

Eben has created a program for people like me :

http://getaltitude.com/wakeup-2015-video-1-cta/

You can watch the videos and do the exercices. This is not the whole course but you get an idea about it.

My favorite quote about discipline was said by Jim Rohn :

“There are two types of pain you will go through in life, the pain of discipline and the pain of regret. Discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tonnes.”
