DRAFT ORDER IS POSTED. YOU HAVE NEARLY 5 DAYS TO PREPARE!
(Click "Draft >> Draft Results")

I just ran the random draft order this evening and wouldn't you know it, you freaking got the first pick.

Again! I'll carry the huge expectation of not stuffing up 1st overall pick. Then have that brutal wait between pick 1 and 28, even worse than last years 1 to 24. I call that wait the Valley of Sadness, as you watch basically every other elite player disappear.

I counted 11 guys I can make a decent case for at 1st overall, better do some more research.

You had 1st last year too?? WTF?!

I went with Eddie Lacy at 1, who was ranked about 5 and I decided two minutes before the draft. But the real gold was watching everyone else take all the players I wanted so at 24-25 I took Antonio Brown who I didn't want but the clock was ticking and he was highest ranked guy left.

The way I see it for 1st overall this year, 11 guys to pick from-

6 RBs- Peterson, Charles, Lynch, Le'Veon Bell, Eddie Lacy, Jeremy Hill
3 WRs- Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham, Julio Jones
2 QBs-Rodgers, Luck

I've seen other people take Dez Bryant or Gronk 1st overall too. Tricky choice with no real standout this year.

Bell and/or Brown is going to be a bust this year. Just way too much hype surrounding both of them. I'm just not buying that BOTH the top RB and WR are coming from Pittsburgh.

Beckham Jr. = Madden curse.

Right now I'm hoping you're wrong because I have Bell as my first choice RB just ahead of Hill, and Beckham as first choice WR just ahead of Brown. Beckham may be the best player there whereas Brown may be the most consistent.

If there was trading I could happily trade down to 10, likely pick up Jeremy Hill or Julio, and see what I could fleece you out of for 1st overall pick.

I'm going with CJ Anderson as the bust-- I don't trust Kubiak when it comes to RB-- I think he's Bellicheck 2.0. Or worse, Shananihanigans 3.0.

Where you are really hurting with the 1st pick is that @MJ DeMarco will have already gotten a 2nd TE by the time you get to your 2nd pick.

Too bad @Vigilante is not in..... we could have the 1st recorded K,K opening draft strategy in history.......

In fairness, I'm an Eagles fan so my opinion of Beckham Jr. may be slightly skewed. ;)

My draft was terrible. I spent exactly zero time studying, and drafted like three guys that are hurt to start the season. Go me. Another rebuilding year.

*hires out my free agent pickup consulting services for huge fee*

Look at my resume-
-Picked up Odell Beckham last year as he was completely unloved in our league mid-October
-After slumming it with starting QBs like Andy Dalton, Blake Bortles, Derek Carr and even Austin Davis, picked up someone's castoff Ben Roethlisberger and got down to business
-Had number 2 on the waiver priority when CJ Anderson became the feature back in Denver, watched amused as MJ spent number 1 waiver on someone else. CJ's second half effort won the title on MNF finals week.

Fair to say the MJ-CJ relationship still hasn't quite recovered.

Unless you are in a keeper league, what you did last year matters about as much as the toilet paper I used this morning.

Did you win the league last year? For that, I might lend some cred.

Yes.

But if you can find a cheaper "Fantasy Turnaround Specialist" who started 1-5 using those utter donkey QBs then went on a ten match winning streak to claim the title, devouring his opponents like Cookie Monster in a bakery, you hire them instead :)

I'm thinking people are tending to overvalue a high draft spot. After checking the numbers I don't see a huge difference between 1-10 this year and if we did have pick trading I'd trade out of 1st overall for that reason.

Interested in opinions on the value of various spots. I suspect the guys I'm looking at for 1st pick would be there at picks 6-10 anyway.

I some what agree with you.

I personally like my number 3 spot because it eliminates the pressure of going first! Lol. I normally like selecting midway through the draft so that I'm able to get somewhat of a feel for how things may turn out (are people reaching for players and such).

But I agree in the sense that with soooo many players that could easily be justified as number ones, there isn't much difference in those top 10 picks. It's all relative though.

Just a reminder, draft is tomorrow night! I also got rid of the IR slot as Yahoo's implementation of it is really screwy.

The beauty of the 1st pick in a league with everyone but @Vigilante ....... By the time you get to your 4th pick, it will be between Matt Leinhart and Booger McFarland........

I'm not going to lie people, even the informal market for the 1st overall pick has been very quiet. At one point it probably could have been had for any other 1st round pick + a nice hot dog.

Note for anyone else on the East Coast, draft time is 10 PM, not 7 PM. Even though I changed my time zone settings Yahoo is still telling me it's at 7.

Had a blast in a draft today that starts 2 QB's. I locked up 4 of the top 10 QB's in a 10 team league. That means I will be getting 2 marquee players in trade for each of the the 2 QB's that I don't need.

I love that tactic, very low risk for very high reward. I think I turned a 140th pick backup QB into CJ Anderson in a similar league last week.

Personally I prefer auctions because you sit there and watch people vastly overspend for top players/their favourite player/their team. You also get people who burn through their budget within the first 20 picks then ask "where do I get more money". It makes me wonder about the lack of financial education.

Draft done....7 of the first 19 picks were Quarterbacks while poor old Peyton had to wait until pick 50.

After last years tradeless season we may get one if Bradford falls apart and MJ needs a new QB.

And the Draft Grades are in-

Draft Grades via Yahoo
A He's Such a ShowOff
A- I'm Thinkin' RBs
B+ Peanut Butter Jammer
B In Ice We Trust, Skeptical Child, Team O' Destiny, Lambo Field
B- I Got You Covered, Rabid Pink Ferrets, Huge Carrot
C+ Team Holmes
C SarcastaballAllStars, Orange Crush, Squirrels gone wild

Ah the automated report cards never fail to deliver-

"Hopefully just because this draft was average, Skeptical Child won't purchase a muscle car or jacked-up truck to overcompensate"

"Congratulations, Rabid Pink Ferrets has earned a participation award. Because that's just about all they did in this draft, participate."

"Despite selecting in the top half of the first round (sixth overall), I Got You Covered might as well have been blindly heaving darts at the draft board to decide their picks. Opponents are going to enjoy beating this team"
