Hi guys,

How are you all?

So a bit about me…

I have recently moved from the big smoke of Sydney, six hours north, to Armidale in NSW and I absolutely love it here. After a six month whirl wind adventure around Australia, my wife and I fell in love with rural Australia and decided to move.

Before making the move I use to be a marketing manager for a mortgage broking company in Sydney. I was good at it and I loved building up teams of people to make an exceptional company.

However, my passion lies in helping people.

I have been a men’s group facilitator for about 5 years. I have also worked as a life/mens coach on the side for the last 2 years with a number of personal development companies around Sydney.

As a coach I specialise in helping men master their relationships with their women & their work. (however I have definitely helped a lot of women too).

It’s time for me to branch out. I have a very clear vision with what I want to create, and part of that is to build up my own business.

So that brings me to this forum.

I’m here because, yes I know how to grow a business, but I don’t know how to build a business from the ground up and all the nitty gritty details that are involved. I’m looking for guidance, support, and to lend my knowledge and expertise to those that can benefit.

It is a pleasure to be on the site. I hope you guys can help get my feet grounded and show me the ropes and in return I hope I can help out any newbie (or even some of the old hats) from my experience

Nathan

So finally finished TMF . Man, I didn't realise how Sidewalker I was. I've never enjoyed a slap in the face so much haha. Great book and plenty of ideas and areas I can add value. The great thing I realised was to test my ideas before implementation. I had this grand plan, but really it was based on a bunch of assumptions on my market.

Actions moving forward...test test test.
  • Narrow down my ideas and get clear on the value.
  • Write up a sales page with great copy on either gumroad or leadpages (probably gumroad because I have some experience with it)
    • Don't know whether I should have it as pre sales where I collect money or just an email collection. Would love to hear how others did it?
  • Promote the hell out of it.
    • Facebook groups
    • LinkedIn Groups
    • Forums
    • Reddit
    • Personally email people who would benefit from this product. Leverage those people - do they know of any others?
    • I'll see if I can send an email to those who purchase/opt in asking them to share it.
    • I'd be interested in playing with targeted FB ads. This is mainly for my own curiosity rather than relying on it for leads. I might play with testing headlines etc, see what gets more click throughs
    • Ask friends to share this with people they know.
  • To see if an idea is viable it has to reach 3 "purchases" within a work week or two solid days on a weekend. (Mainly comes down to the amount of time I can spend promoting)

G'day Nathan, good to see another Aussie here. I'm new and just getting started myself.

Armadale is gorgeous - and your men's group stuff sounds interesting. I am a real advocate for men's health and mental wellbeing - so great to see.
