You just paid $ 11,000.00 a night. These are things some people could only dream of being able to do.

That is all I used to make in 2 months...Major thumbs up to you.

This is absolutely stunning. I have trouble finding words to describe how beautiful this looks to me. Almost as if this isn't real.

Up until today, I haven't even had the wish to visit the Serengeti. Thank you for changing that.

This.

This is life.

For all you kids who ask how I define freedom.
Pack your shit.

Travel to Africa.

Watch an elephant from your pool.

Live.

Breathe.

Fastlane.

Thanks for the reminder Bio. Speed+

I packed my shit last year and went over to East Africa for a month with backpack and 1000 euros. The experience didn't resemble these photos not even a single bit.

One place I stayed had 20 local men all snoring their lungs out in the same room, I couldn't get asleep and listened to music all night to not hear the snoring as much. In other place I was scared to fall asleep because I was alone in a remote village in an extremely shabby room. Babies there have never even seen white person before and some would start crying upon seeing you while kids would keep asking for money. In a hiking trip I had no sleeping gear and didn't realize it can get so cold at night, I was freezing in Africa! I wish it was a joke. Last day of the trip I had literally 0 money and being already exhausted had to walk the whole day, 15km with large backpack to the airport.

By the end of the month I was dreaming about my life back at Europe and got extremely pumped so that next time there is going to resemble more of what Biophase posted!

Even though my trip was an antonym to glamour, I was still WAY WAY more well-off than most locals. That forces you to realize how privileged you are by winning at the lottery of where you are born, and that it's your responsibility to do something good with that privilege. Now the feeling has faded away but at the thought and intention is still there.

I was expecting some weird german shit when I read the title but damn! That's life. Throw in some booze, lions and heavy weaponry and I honestly can't even imagine anything cooler at the moment.

Sounds like an awesome trip. This is the stuff that you always remember. If you walk around there with a DSLR camera, a gopro and an iphone, it's like the equivalent of someone here walking around with a $5,000 watch, $4,000 suit and $1,000 shoes in your face over here.

Holyshit man, you got me with just the first picture. That's another world, it reminds me of the book "Losing my virginity" from Richard Branson, there he talks about his house in Africa.

I'm just starting this journey to freedom, and I see that so unreal and far away. This is going to sound very pessimistic, maybe is not my day, but right now I can't see how I can reach the goal to spend $11.000 a night on a resort in Africa. I think I don't know anyone in my near reality with that kind of success, that's why I see it like a dream and hard to materialize.

Anyway, enough of my crybaby rant, back to work! thanks for share the pics, great for the motivation!

@biophase, absolutely amazing! I've been on the continent twice, it's magical. Most recent trip was 2011, to Ghana, West Africa, to set up a gold import operation. Lets just say that things did not go exactly as planned, but a great trip. I'll write a book about it one day. Lol
I gotta stay at that lodge on my next trip!
Thanks for the motivation!!

Is the movie "blood diamond" loosely based on your trip? :smoking:

Just got back from an African safari. This was a partial business trip and one of its main purposes was to tour the many lodges to see what is available for high income clients.

So I thought I'd post some motivation for you all here. What you are looking at below are the suites at the Four Seasons Serengeti. These suites are just ridiculous in size and location. The suites each have their private pool. Not sure of there square footage but, I'm guess at least 1300 sf. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, private fitness center, private kitchen (but the staff cooks food for you).

Price for this suite is $11,000 per night. They said that most people stay 6-7 nights. How fastlane do you need to be to stay in this suite?

The crazy thing is that after being there a week and seeing these lodges, the $1,000/night room sounds like a great deal!

Somehow missed this post. No I did not stay in the $11k a night room. I saw those rooms because I was on an agent tour of the facility. I did just stay in their cheapest room which was $1k a night.
