I recently finished reading 'How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big' by Scott Adams (the creator of Dilbert cartoon).

I HIGHLY recommend reading this book. It's fantastic!

What I love about the book is that it's a self-help book without motivational fluff. It's just a real honest look at what Scott Adams has done in his life and how it has impacted his success. It covers everything.

This should be required reading for those of us pursuing The Fastlane.

I agree. It's very good indeed, and everything he says makes sense. I can't think of a better companion book to TMF .

It is a very good book, indeed.

The best way to summarize the message of the book is :
It is way better to have a system instead of goals, because with a system of approaching success you will actually improve your odds of achieving success. With goals it's just a "win or lose" game, something which won't give you any improvement of odds at all.

Adams does also have a very good blog, which i highly recommend :

I just got a $20 gift certificate from Audible for my 'loyal membership,' so I was looking for something to buy with it.

I love Scott Adams, so this should be a fun read...or listen, as it were.

Just finished it... It's definitely one of the best self-help books I've ever read. A lot of fresh ideas, funny writing (makes learning easier), and good lifestyle advice. I made a lot of notes. Thank you for this thread, @Cparsons.

I added it to my audible account. Recently he was interviewed on the Tim Ferris podcast. I enjoyed that and will the book as well I think

Thanks for posting this. I bought the Audible version. The book is excellent. Its helping to change my perspective from 'gotta have perfection' to 'just try it, and see what happens.' I probably don't have to tell you which of those options is the better way to live.

I've almost finished listening to this book. It reminds me of MJ's book. I wish there were a way to implement everything Scott Adams talks about all at once. Or at least remember most of what he writes.
