Hey everyone,

I have an ecommerce store currently set up based in Hong Kong and one of the big problems I have is which countries I should target. If I target my home country and get a locally based domain .com.hk, I believe I will have alot more local traffic than worldwide. The local market is probably relatively small as it is dominated by taobao (chinese amazon clone).

If I were to ship worldwide, which countries should I target and will website show up on different countries search engines if I perform SEO?

Thanks for everyones help :)

You're doing it the wrong way. You have to first find out where your target market is, then figure out what they want, then how you can reach them, and THEN you decide what to sell them. If you follow that process you wont have the problem you describe.
