Hello Fastlaners,

Need your opinion on the following idea:

The following is one of the most common approach to an internet business
1. Develop a website for your products/services
2. Divert traffic to it (Website Analytics)
3. Offer something of value and generate leads (get email IDs of interested people)
4. Successfully convert a lead into Sales

My Idea is to provide predictive analytics over the data collected through website analytics. The product would be something like
1. At the end of every month a report would be generated
2. The report would contain all the Leads you generated in the month as input
3. The report would give the % of conversion. It will rate every Lead between 0 - 100. 0 - very less chance that the lead would buy product/service. 100 - 100% chance that the lead would buy product/service.

The service would be very similar to how Web Analytics(for e.g. google analytics) work. Looking at historic data trends and behavior pattern of successful leads, the model would predict if the current lead exhibits the pattern of a successful lead or a cold lead. It's taking web analytics to the next level and provide more value

Question: If you are using a web analytics tool to drive your business, do you see any value in this?

It seems like it would be very hard for this product to work on the majority of sites, due to low traffic. Even if they had decent traffic, you wouldn't be able to test very many variables with confidence. To really do it right, you would need to test on 75% of the traffic and then run the model on the other 25% to see if it actually is working. Now, maybe for really biiiig sites with loads of traffic you could make it work, and charge em and arm and a leg, but I don't see it working for smaller people.
