I was looking around for some documents and ended up founding my Income Tax receipt from 2011, at the time i was paying a good 1k+ on income taxes every single month, which made me really angry at time, here in Brazil the max income tax is 27% and i was in that paying group at age of 21, now im making so little money that i´m not even paying income tax, and i can say with no doubt in my mind, is much better pay 27% than make so little that you don´t even have to pay.

So the lesson here is simple, if you pay a lot of taxes be happy! Because you make a lot of money!

Then come to Denmark and pay 43% income tax and 15% on top on that, when you hit $80k. It's wonderful ;).

I know you are joking, but i would not mind paying that at all to live in Denmark. You guys probably don´t even lock your houses during the night.

Praia da Areia Branca, Portugal
48% in Portugal after 80k€ with a 23% VAT, and that's the higher tier.

On a 25€ product, almost 5€ are for VAT.

And they wonder why there is so much parallel activity and so little investment.

The U.K
45% in the UK and our socialists want to raise to 50% next year (they will probably win). they never, ever learn, it doesn't work...but politics of envy is very powerful.

Try norway :) They announce around 50% income tax, but my uncle who lives there reports having to turn in 60-65% of his salary.

Or holland, it's between 40% and 55% income tax+ 21% VAT
