Google them, and preferably if you cannot speak French or Arabic, get someone who CAN. Authenticity is easily revealed when people share a language. Which part of Morocco, I may be able to help :) ?

try to talk to 3 or 4 company , and ask them to provide you with their list of clients, and prices, then verify all the info, after that ask for the sample of the product you are looking for.and decide which company you need to do business with,if you need any help ,i can recommend someone there ll be able to help you.

I am Morrocan born in the Netherlands,
I think the main Ingredient that can be found there cannot be grown anywhere else in the world.
UNESCO declared it a heritage.

Do they have a website with contact details , maybe a facebook page and a way to check them out in google.
Are they located in Tanger, Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir or Marrakech.
Also all Companies in Morocco have a registration number that they are in business and pay taxes accordingly, should be trace able.

There are many way to check but on the phone or a video conference through facebook, or Skype.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Nordien

I know the ingredient the OP is talking about... and it cannot just be grown anywhere else. Because it's not just a matter of planting a tree, there's more on how the final product is made (some animals do some work during the process). It has been in the moroccan culture forever and not easily replicable, and i don't know if it would be worth it or less expensive to reproduce it anyway.

Everywhere I turn in the US right now there is a product with it. EVERYWHERE. Even small shops, grocery stores, etc

I thought about using this to my advantage, being that I'm moroccan, and start a business with it... but it'll have to wait as it's not my priority.

OP: What have you done since you last posted?

Hey Deon.
Yes it is becoming very popular in Europe and USA but lots of them are adding chemichals to it.
I am already in contact with supplier, ordered and received samples few days ago, currently working on labels, packaging design etc.
