Hello guys.

Just a brainstorming thread to see what ideas you guys come up with.
My local Hostpital car park cannot handle the volume of cars. Everyday it is full with cars leaving staff and patients struggling to park.
This issue has got a lot of press lately, being featured in local newspapers and online.
There must be a way to make money from the hundreds of cars who struggle to park everyday?

Are there some services that could be offered as "drive through" by the hospital - pickup and drop-offs of patients and equipment and medications?

Parking lot triage... both for incoming patients and visitors, can some needs be redirected to other medical service providers, can some be dealt with easily in the parking lot by a nurse with an iPad?

Put up a sign that says one of the patients has Ebola. :pompus: (Disclaimer: I'm not really recommending anyone do this. That would be idiotic :p)

Build a parking garage... 2 levels down... 5 levels up. I am presuming right now the parking lot is just a flat piece of land..... building up will get you 500% more parking space out of the same land.

remote lot, charge for parking spaces and free shuttle service

This. A big mall in DFW does this every single year for Christmas shoppers. The remote lot is approximately 1/2 mile away from the mall itself. Here is how it works:

Temporary signs are placed on roads and at intersections pointing drivers toward the remote lot. In the mall lot, which is still available for parking, there are more signs explaining where to go to get to the remote lot.

The remote lot is actually just a field.

A parking lot attendant is in place to direct shoppers where to park in order to achieve efficient parking.

A golf cart security person(s) are in place to provide security for the people and cars.

Buses are chartered to run between the mall and the remote lot every 15 minutes. So matter what time you park your car or choose to leave the mall, you wait no more than 15 minutes for a bus. Usually it's faster. This model is also used at Disneyland between Disney and the closest hotels.

This service is free to shoppers, paid for by the mall.
