How to advertise eBooks?

I finally got my royalties paid on amazon. My sales average out to 2-3 units per day, that's around $150 per month. I want to take this to the next level by advertising.

I don't know shit about advertising. So what is the most efficient way to advertise my top seller?

There are many options for selling ebooks and information products.
Let me preface the following by saying I generate over 6-figures a year with information marketing (ebooks, video/audio courses etc).

What matters is your target audience and your budget.
Many people are quick to say facebook or google ads but this isn't always the case.

Another thing that is of importance is your selling platform.
You are using Amazon so your options (and price points) are a bit more limited.
If you are willing to release the books on different platforms and formats (.pdf for example) then your options are much bigger.

If money is tight then diving into paid advertising with no experience is a
fast way to blow your money. In this case your best bet is to get affiliates.

I use affiliates as my main traffic source. Affiliates are people who sell
your books for you for a commission of the profit. This is much easier to
do than you might think.

There are platforms out there like JVZoo dot com and ClickBank dot com
that are built specifically for the purpose of driving sales via affiliates.

You'd want to convert your books to pdf format and put up a sales
page on your own website and link up to one of those platforms.

At that point you can go out and get affiliates.
I won't go into detail here about how to do all that but
if you look into it, you won't be hard pressed to find more info.

A good idea for you in particular would be to read this interview
Tim Ferris held with Mike Geary.

Mike has a course called "The Truth About 6 Pack Abs." which
has generated millions of dollars in sales online using affiliates
and paid ads.

The article takes an in-depth look at exactly how he did it.
WELL worth the read.

Here is the interview: http://fourhourworkweek.com/2011/11/02/the-truth-about-abs-mike-geary/

P.S. I have no affiliation with the link above. It's just a damn good article.

I have 4 books in the fitness niche, nothing left to write about

Bullshit. There are fitness writers out there that rehash the same shit in like 100 books. The whole fitness industry is based on rehashing the same shit, just spun differently for a different market.

I have to agree to a certain extent. If you know about your topic there is no limit to the amount of books you can write.
Put a different spin on the same content with a new name. I do this quite often for big results.

I was going to say the same thing as cyber and the-j. You can write much more then 4 books. You need to think more fastlane, scale. Scale this business. How would you scale this? More ebooks brother.

Easy to scale the info biz. Either more books or more traffic to one book.

Thanks for the reply.

Can a sales page alone without a main site be successful? Will I make sales only thru affiliating?

Yep, all you need is a sales page. You don't need like a full blown website or anything.
Your sales would come from affiliates but with it now being on a self-hosted sales page
there is nothing to stop you from driving any other kind of traffic.

I have a course on how to do all this, though I'm not going to post it here and piss off MJ :)
You can PM me if you'd like.

I got a few PMs asking for more info on how I structure things so I'm going to
break it all down a little more here.

I have different price points depending on what level of information the customer is buying.
My front end reports go for $7 to $9.95. Those ebooks average about 17 pages.
They can sell anywhere from a few hundred to a couple thousand copies (within a two to three weeks).

I structure my information products using funnel systems.
So for example, there is the initial report.. called the "front end"
After the customer buys that, they are immediately taken to another offer at a higher price.
This is called an upsell. The price can very greatly, but typically mine are in the $17-47 range.
Sometimes I'll even throw in a second upsell after that.

Each product provides progressively more information.

So for example.. lets say your products were about plumbing.
The front end report could be "How to un-clog a drain".
The upsell could be "The Ultimate D-I-Y Guide to Home Plumbing"
The third upsell could be "How to become a professional plumber"

You see the stages and levels of training, and as the customer
goes up the information ladder they pay more for each product.

Here's an example of one of my funnels. It has two products (ebooks).

2014-10-23_2118.png

The first "Solo Ad Arbitrage" listing you see is the overall funnel totals for the two product below it.
>> Solo Ad Arbitrage is the front end report
>> Solo Ad Arbitrage - OTO is the upsell. (oto means one time offer)

So customers bought the FE and 62% of them also bought the upsell.

Those sales were generated in about a 3 week period using pure affiliate traffic.

Now it's important to mention that I also have products at a much higher
price.. to the tune of several hundred or a couple thousand dollars a piece
that I sell to them down the road on a live video broadcast.

Like this one:

At the end of the video I pitch them the high ticket product.
There is no affiliate cut from that high ticket product, it's pure profit.

There's even more to it than that, more ways I make money from it,
but I don't want to put your brain into overload :)

You can watch that video above (it's about 2 hours long)
and you'll get a pretty clear idea of how it all works.

If you want to spend not much (except your time), then affiliates + social media is your meal ticket. For ads (adwords, bing, media buys) I would stay away from paying for ads, unless you know what you are doing.

Im sorry, but you can create countless products in that niche. Go and interview other experts, get those interviews formatted into words and you have more books. I can list thousands of ways that you can create more products with :)
