I've read the book and have been a long term lurker (never seem to post much on forums, maybe because I'm too busy). My team and I just launched a fun new side project idea. It's simply a collection of cool products found across the web. You can check it out at http://needtobuythat.com

1) How did you get the idea?
2) How long did it take to build?
3) Did you outsource design and programming? Any good resource/tip for that?
4) How do you plan marketing it?
5) Do you have any sales yet?

1) This isn't exactly a new idea. There are other people doing it.
2) This took about 2-3 days time to go from idea to launch
3) All the design was done in-house. We're a tech startup that builds SaaS products and built this out as fun side-project.
4) As for marketing, going to be looking at building up a big following on Twitter and Instagram. Maybe a little on FB but the organic reach on there is dying by the second.
5) Sales...not that I know of. We're more focused on building up the traffic and community first.
