Has anyone used a VA service?

If so - what were the setup costs?

How did it work?

Why did you stop/or keep using your VA?

Many thanks in advance!

I paid this guy from india £3 for 5 hours of work, I basically told him the stuff I wanted him to do and he did it. I did have to train him to do some things which wasted my time a bit but other then that it was worth the price. And I still use him :)

It's not complicated.
Go to Odesk, Elance, or Fiverr and either find the right person matching your needs - or set up a listing and have people come to you.

Have been using VA services - because they can be really, really profitable for you if used right.
BUT they will need some initial time investment to guide/instruct the VA in order to keep up with your tasks and requirements.

My biggest problem with this was that it took me about 20 VA's to find 1 fitting one - but since you are done with that you can simply rely on the one you found for many months :)

Hi, Could you go into how you went about finding the VA? I tried one off elance and it was really just a money pit. I paid around $300 for 1 month and she could hardly do anything i asked her to do. I was really looking to find someone to answer phone calls more then anything but if they could do outbound stuff as well that would be a huge bonus.

Does anyone have some seasoned advice around the hiring process? Management of VAs?

I have watched the videos from Melbourne SEO Services on YouTube - though I was seeing if anyone on the forum wanted to share their experience.

Could be helpful for those coming to the forum after us who want to hire a VA through different means.

I would recommend checking out Chris Duckers' book - Virtual Freedom - http://www.virtualfreedombook.com/

It will layout what you need to know on how to work with them. I have a few VA's working with me, but instead of having me write out all there is to know rather just read the book :)

I would also recommend going to an agency such as - eahelp.com or live2sell.com they provide quality VA's and they match the expertise with what you need. There is small setup fees, I think it's like $395-$500 or something.

If used correctly, VA's will be the most profitable employees you will ever have.

Good luck
