I was calculating the amount of wasted time in front of the TV for the series I watch and post it on my blog. This of course without counting sports, movies, ads etc. and without counting reruns (I watched Seinfeld's "The Contest" at least ten times...)

However, here’s a snippet (I apologize for the formatting), grand total at the end:

ahahha, no the calculations took about 15 minutes thanks to Excel... and the opportunity cost might be advantageous as I will watch way less TV now (21 days in front of a TV... ARGH!)
As for the blog... It will make me rich ! lol

Wow. I watch about 2-3 hours a week. I wish there was more to watch, just can't find much that gets me hooked.

3 hours a week is 6 days a year :)

Of course I watched those in several years, but the amount of hours is still astounding. But if you start to add up baseball games, soccer games, football games (I don't watch it) and movies the problem becomes even more real. And I am just glad that other than Masterchef (I like to cook... and eat; gives good ideas) I don't watch any reality show.

If you want to really scare yourself, add up all the screen time you spend in the day on non-work related tasks. All that inane browsing or getting sucked into a blog about whatever for two hours..... :D

I've never been a tv watcher except for a few choice shows and don't understand how people will watch just anything, but damn I can read news all day long. Its a bad habit I need to break.
